Juventus (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Just be more pragmatic, invite teams on and we play on the break otherwise we get bummed on Sunday
We are too old to do that. None of our players want to run. And when they do, the guy on the ball is too scared to attempt a risky pass.

Everyone is hiding from a pass. Bernado, Kyle, Gundo, Erling and Rico all his today.

It's pretty much down to Doku and Jack as they only 2 players who aren't hiding.

And the press is putrid.

A carbon copy of Saturday

We get the equaliser, with 20 odd minutes still to play, and we barely register an attempt on goal.

Fast forward to tonight, Gundogan had that shot saved with 20 odd minutes left, and again, I can't think of another meaningful attempt on goal for the remainder of the game.

When the rags were in their pomp and were losing games, there'd be an ONSLAUGHT on the opposition goal

WTF is going on?
Have the players downed tools!?
Are they knackered?
Pep makes 2 substitutions and brings on players who have poor end product.
What was the point of taking Foden if he wasn't going to play him. Boost his Air Miles? Get a giant Toblerone and a bottle of aftershave from Duty Free. If he's been ill, he might as well stayed at home.

Too many touches, and not enough shots.

Lose against the rags and I would expect him to walk.

He's never known anything like this but he knows that it can get even worse. The sad fact is that the players just aren't good enough to play in his system, and there's absolutely nothing he can do about it before January.

Sunday is a must-win for us. Anything else is totally unacceptable.

Of course you expect Pep to walk if we lost our next match.

The flapping and over-reaction on here is predictable.

You can't be concerned about Pep. He knows the issues but he also knows the season is long, the players have delivered so much up to now, and that there's no need to panic.

He has consistently talked about being better with the ball because when we lose it we cannot cope. Yet again their goals came from giving it away and leaving us exposed. We aren't patient in our build up, and when we lose it we don't have the shape.

He either needs to change things to give us better shape and accept we will lose the ball, or try and change players so we stop losing it. The trouble is we aren't stacked for options at the moment. It's now, more than ever, Pep wants us to pass teams to death. But that's not what is happening on the pitch.
I'm concerned about Pep not in terms of his job but his ability to see us through until we can rebuild with new players.

We ain't improving or looking like we even have a plan.

It’s a fair question to ask how many defeats can a gaffer take before the sack gets mentioned.

I agree with you that he has so much credit in the bank that it shouldn’t happen. He does need to change things up though. Football and fashions change and the very best keep up. I think pep can do it

Even if we lost every game for the rest of this season Pep’s job should be guaranteed. He can only work with what is available. Most of our best players are out injured, those remaining are overplayed or too old or just not good enough.

This is all down to shitting the bed in the transfer market. We need to act like billy big bollocks and fucking buy our way back. We can afford it. We can’t afford not to.

Not outbidding Arses for Rice was shit. Not replacing Alvarez was shit. Letting Palmer go without a better replacement was shit. We were complacent and arrogant and it’s bitten us on the arse.

Time to grow a pair and back Pep properly. Break some fucking transfer records, pay agents whatever it takes. Fuck the rag cartel off and show the world we mean business. Not 34 year old free transfers or players from mid table teams or some average nobodies.

Sign some fucking headline makers.

we are at the moment mate we cant deny it but if we get two good signings in jan it could turn things round
Do you have faith the club can deliver that in Jan?

We haven't been able to sign a top quality player since Haaland.

We will offer half of what Newcastle want for Guimares, piss about and sign someone like fucking Lemina on deadline day

then as ive said...he is done and we need to stop relying on him

a team looking for the top cannt afford passengers or sentiment.....and this is what is driving the narrative around KDB at the moment.

Legend yes
Best midfielder to play in the prem - posssibly yes (id argue David Silva would be up there)

But time to move on...we wait another seasons its the mistake akin to bringing Gundo back or giving Walker another season......
We can't cut away too many seniors at once. It is a balancing act. The defence didn't cover themselves in glory in preventing their goals either. We weren't brilliant but couldn'tm convert our dominance into goals

It's only the last 2 months that the recruitment seems bad.

Was anyone really questioning the club during 4 titles wins in a row?
We've always had a smallish squad. It was a concern but Pep made a fool of me for years. But we look old and leggy all of a sudden. Ederson, Walker, Stones, Gundo, Grealish, Nunes, Savinho and i hate to say it but KDB also at this stage, all probably lucky to be here at this point. Silva might need to move on also. We've had a couple of poor transfer windows, right at the point some players have got old/become injury prone/lost form/not good enough.

I'm pretty sure Pep plans his subs at the beginning of the month for all the upcoming games. They rarely make any sense or have any impact. We could be 3 up or 3 down and they feel like they would be the same
His three subs v Feyenoord were a disaster and has put us into a very difficult UCL position
