Juventus (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

what I was saying is this season Champions League maybe over because we are not going to win it with this sqaud and injuries, we must put all our eggs into trying to finishing in the top 4
What is fucking annoying is the fact there are no stand out teams at home or in Europe.

Our teams of the last 10.years would win the big double easily.

Has football finally reached the point where winning titles means nowt to players.
Look at Mbappe for example, spent 2 years trying to get to Madrid and he's been crap since getting there.

Gundogan is right - we're doing 90% of what we need to do and getting caught out.

Haaland should score first half and the first goal contains another error.

There was no need to play quicker etc, we created sufficient openings to score. It's just a fraction or so off. Juventus played it tight and took their opening - Haaland and Doku need to get an understanding as it has cost us again.

But as ever, how we attack is how we defend. The second goal is a poor give away and then panicked running that leaves a gap for Danilo to pass into, from there we're in trouble.

The only difference I would make is calming the press down. I'm convinced the high press era of football is coming to an end, with teams & systems better suited against it. A majority of the PL teams are now more of a threat when they have less possession.
Excellent perspective, generally agree with what you’ve put there.

We are currently exhibiting relegation form. Luckily we probably only need 15 points to stay up. Nevertheless something needs to change. And I'd say that we need to play a system that best suits the players available.
I've never been convinced that Erling was a good fit for us, but we should be playing to his strengths now. Defend deeper, let him have more space to work with.

Fuk me ok ,,,you believe that it will be allowed to continue , I know what they have fking won and where we have come from and been, but it's the present now and it's fking turgid there is no plan b when there needs to be one.
I actually don't give a fuk about loosing as long as there's entertainment there , and you are telling me you have been anywhere near entertained this season at all ?
Been more entertainment watching Brentford on MOTD this season.

We ran much much less than Juve

And Juve is not a team good at running around

Does the dressing room still support Pep?

I won't blame them I would not bother to run the sock off if I play with Rico and Walker. Guaranteed 2 goal lost.

Exactly.

If Rodri, Stones, Ake and Akanji were fit, and if others were in form, he wouldn't be playing/starting that many games.

As it is, he's completely isolated and his flaws being exposed.
Like I said before, Pep can still try McAtee, Wright, O'reilly from time to time and give Rico a rest, it's not just the injuries to the main players.

Part one of the rebuild needs to happen in January.

Two midfielders
One centre back.

Get the rest done in the summer.

If you want the best manager in the world, the best manager we have ever had... sacked, because of two or more bad months then there is nothing more to be said.
Ok ,,,i shall wait and see and remember this post , if it all changes and things all go OK again with the team as it is at the moment ill hold my hands up and beg forgiveness, if we have a run similar to this in the next 10 or twenty games , I will then look forward to your opinion .

If Pep thought that they were good enough and ready to play, then they would.

Same old same old I’m afraid…..story of our season.

  • Very little creativity apart from Kev who got more and more sloppy as the game went on.
  • Caught out playing a high line once again. Doku lost the ball and hey presto Juventus are on the counter.
  • The inverted full back is costing us in every match.
  • Build up too slow and side to side to side to side to side and then no ball into the box.
  • Walker once again not trying to stop a cross coming in and costing a goal.
  • We probably had as many chances as Juventus but drew a blank due to wastefulness.
  • Weak in the tackle.
  • Wide men that can’t cross.
Something has got to change, apart from Kova coming back I cant see where the midfield is going to improve.

I think this is Pep’s biggest ever challenge with probably the least talented squad he has ever managed and he cannot stubbornly stick to what was previously tried and tested.

You can wish for Pep to be sacked, but it isn't going to happen.

CL is hugely important for us, as well the revenue it brings. especially this new format supposed to bring more cash to top sides. more games, more revenue otherwise clubs would have not OK'd the changes.
not mentioning that most of our targets will have interested buyers likely not Luton Town but other top CL clubs. it can easily be the CL being on offer the tipping point for a player.

quite sad we are right now at the stage of even thinking we can drop out of top4 but we actually can if this slump continues into February. I dont see any sign of our form improving so far. Sporting and Spurs beating us heavily and them losing-drawing every game since than is quite telling. watch this Juventus now draw next three Serie A games vs lower half sides.

Excellent summary

OK, so I agree Lewis has been completely exposed & isolated, particularly playing alongside Gundo & Bernardo, right? But does he need to be? All of them have flaws exacerbated by playing in concert, do they need to happen?

It's painful on social media, Forget calling themselves City fans ? Everybody knows a true Manchester City can laugh in the face of a crisis and not cry and moan about it
So all our fans 30 and under are not "true" fans? Nonsense. We can't expect them to laugh at this situation. Back in the day it was much easier to be OK with a lack of success. There weren't these expectations. This squad was considered the best squad in the world less than 2 months ago and now can't beat ANYONE. In fact, in many games we aren't even competitive. And our legendary manager seems at a loss to stem the bleeding. These younger fans are in shock. Why? Because what's happening is shocking, simple as. As an older fan myself I'm glad these young fuckers are in an uproar. God bless them!!!!
