Juventus (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Could take as little as 2/3 very good players.

Most probably 3/4 windows.

Maybe having a small squad will actually help us rebuild faster.

I’m glad the club backed pep with a new contract. Nothing says loyalty than a new contract in turbulent times.

Walker
Ederson
Stones
Kdb
Bernie
Rodders
Gundo
Phil

The above have gave us some fantastic moments and have not been adequately replaced.

Grealish
Doku
Savio maybe harsh
Kova
Rico maybe harsh
Gvardiol

All the above were either brought in to supplement the main players or provide adequate competition. In evidence, this group of players are not a patch on the previous.

Look at the difference in quality.

The clubs recruitment has failed massively. Not going after better quality and hoping pep can keep on performing. He is good, got a tune out of some good players.

However, he can’t get a tune out of inferior players. Unfortunately that’s what we have now.

We got complacent.

Identify the mistakes made and start a ruthless cull. It won’t be pretty but necessary.

The old players can’t do it anymore and the new players are not good enough.
im convinced Gvardiol can become the very best with some tweaks

He’s fucking rubbish. There’s two many mediocre players at the moment that city fans are too happy to give a chance to. We have to be ruthless to be a world class team. The likes of Nunes, Savio etc aren’t good enough

So despite us winning the 2 games that he played CM in. You'd rather continue on with what we have been doing for the last 8 weeks and not change it? No one’s saying he’s the long term solution, I didnt want to sign him in the first place. But considering the state of our midfield i would give him a chance before we hopefully get some reinforcements in Jan. Having seen the calamitous play of our midfield tonight im amazed people dont want to change. If we go in with gundo on Sunday, we’re getting turned over!! Again!!

Stick together.

Worst thing we could do is turn on Pep.

The tide will turn eventually.

Good thing we have plenty of oil money and soon no charges.

Players essentially need replaced. We got it wrong. So what! the transformation will be a sight to behold.

We broke football not so long ago. Reached the top. Now we got to find a way to climb again.

People may have had fears, but over the last 9 years those fears haven't really been proven right.

This season though, injuries have killed us, specifially Rodri's. It's as simple as that.

The club didn't bring in an adequate replacement.

The club couldn't have foreseen a season ending injury however.

Alvarez's sale is only looking a mistake as other players in the squad aren't scoring at the moment. KDB and Foden have hardly played. The club also couldn't foresee a bad injury to Bobb.

Pep didn't want a replacement for Alvarez. Trying to pretend he has had no say in transfer policy is banal at best, with a few reporters stating he didn't want City spending more money this summerr - he didn't want a deficit. Oscar Bobb broke his leg mid August - we had squad space available and opportunity. Whether the injury was foreseen or not is moot.

KDB, Stones, Ake, Kovacic are all injury prone. Gundo & Walker are at, or have long been, at the drop off point Rodri was being overplayed. It's collective mismanagement to not mitigate the evident squad issues

The young lad needs to be given a chance Nico Reilly, second half v Tottenham he was really good never seen him since. Wright as well put himself about, most enjoyable city game I have seen in a while.
Getting beat 4-0 was the most enjoyable game you've seen in a while?

The club should have had contingency plans for bad injuries to key players but piss poor planning and management meant we didn’t and has left our season in tatters

I’m just amazed that Haaland hasn’t picked up a season ending injury …. Yet !!!
