Just wanted to make a point about the game last night... City v Juventus and we only got 35,000 people in the ground.

Personally, I am embarrassed by that. I am only 25 years old but have had a season ticket long enough to remember us losing at home to Bury & Stockport County in the league. I was thrilled when we got drawn against a 'giant' in world football, I wouldnt have missed it for the world.

We keep saying 'our fans are the best'.. It is becoming harder and harder to believe it. The club reduced prices, 3 for 2, and are doing all they can - look at the players we have signed! The facilities, the new City square - everything is geared for us to be a big club. The crowd play a massive part and a ground with loads of empty seats is hardly inspiring or intimidating.

It's a joke - far too many people spend too much time on here talking shite (as much as this is a great website) without suppoting the team.
We will never be a huge club with fans who won't turn up for a game against Juventus.. Im not interested in 'it was on Channel 5, it was midweek, I was at work'.. Absolute bollocks and we have got to be sick of it.

The club is doing their bit, now do yours.

Some people are having a tough time at the moment.
3 home games in a week is beyond a lot of people.
If i win the lotto tomorrow night i promise i'll never miss a game ever again.

not everyone can afford it sadly I was one of them. I have a seasoncard but coming from chester to a match every home game with my sons costs me £35 thats travel food and drink, went to the Chelsea game and am going the Newcastle game on Sunday thats £70 if I had have gone last night another £40 in tickets then £35 again thats £145 half a weeks wages gone on football sorry cant justify that £70 is pushing it a little but I can afford it...thats the thing its simply the money situation 3 home games in 8 days is beyond a lot of peoples means even if they are seasoncard holders. Fair play to those that can afford it and yes i'm gutted I wan't there but I shouldn't have to explain the above but bet its similar reasons for others then there are the ones that might have to work......

When I was young i never missed a game home or away. Unfortunately I now live in Scotland . I get to as many games as I can but due to work committments and cost I like many others have to pick and choose our games. Times are bhard at the moment. Gone are the days when you had spare cash unless you are one of the lucky ones. People are just trying to keep a roof over their head. I would love to go to every game unforyunately you have to prioritise. Anyway I appreciate your points but I think you need to realise that supporters are supporters whether they are there or not.

What do you expect? You spend a lot of money for transfers, you have great players, your budget can be compared with the best teams.
You aren't only the favorite of this group (which you should win without any problems) Win this group I think is yours minimum plan, and how not to look, you have a huge chance on paper to win Europa League ( not only in my opinion ).

Group A:
Juventus isn't that team right now as they were in past.
Times of glory Juve is already past, after the big team was just a name - Juventus and at this time for me Juve is only a good team without any "fireworks". (except maybe Del Piero)

RB Salzburg - Last season they went like a storm in Europa Leauge, they won all their matches in the group stage (Villareal, lazio, Levski Sofia)!!!. Ater this season they sold the two best players and are playing below expectations.

Lech Poznań - For Lech this group is "Group of Death" as everyone say in Poland. Looking at the budget of 10 million euros per season, spending only 1 million euros on transfers before this season, any point in this group is a success!

Unless you think overall this is a very weak tournament, there's a contradictory element to your analysis ... you describe Juve and Salzburg basically as quite poor teams, and then refer to the group as the "Group of Death" - implying then that it is the strongest group.

You are right though, City shouldn't struggle with this group but there's plenty of strong teams in this tournament I think.

for Lech it is, not for us, I think that's what he means.

Because their capacity is 10k below ours...and they've been considerably more succesful than we have over the last 35 years...Plus we haven't played Champions league football yet!!...It was the subsiduary European cup last night?......

I thought it might be interesting to get a Juventus perspective on the game last night, so I had a quick trawl around their forum.

And you know what - they were pretty pleased to come away with a point.

And here's the really interesting thing, before the game loads of them were expecting a defeat. They were really worried about Tevez and Adebayor and pretty impressed with our defense.

I think we are starting to punch more weight in Europe than you might imagine. City are coming and everyone knows it :-)

EDIT: And another thing, some of them call us "Manchester". I like that :-)

funny attendance was 32318 meaning approx 4,000 empty seats...added to the fact they are not in the middle of 3 straight home games true they are at home this weekend.
