Kaka my arse!, i wish people would stop thinking about players that at this stage of our rise to the top are not going to come here. they are not the type of players that will give 100% to club, they will simply be here for the money and if it does not work out they will be on the first plane out of here.

I'm sorry but that is a load of shit!

Where has this misaprehension come from that as soon as you turn into a world star, that you automatically don't care about the club you play for's success anymore!? It's bollocks. And to say that Kaka is not the sort pf player we need at the moment, there is not a club in the world that would not be significantly improved by having Kaka in the squad. He's a class act and definitely the sort of players we should be targeting if there is any chance of us getting them.

Some of you need to seriously cheer up. Maybe we won't get them, but to completely dismiss it as pie in the sky is terribly short sighted considering the financial position we are in, and the fact that we already have Robinho. Add 4 or 5 more players at Robinho's level and we're flying.

By all means stay miserable, but don't put your misery you disguise as "realism" on anybody else.

Not sure why it upsets so many people if someone else thinks we're in with a chance of Kaka/Villa etc.

If you want to believe it, believe it. If you don't, don't. Pretty simple really.

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere on here before, but for all those people pinning their hopes on Kaka's injury being a smokescreen for him coming to us then La Gazzetta Dello Sport (Italy's number one sports newspaper) have reported the following:

The Brazilian ace’s injury is reportedly more serious than first thought and he could be forced to undergo surgery over the next few days.

Kakà skipped Milan’s doomed trip to Juventus, officially due to an upper thigh problem.

However, reports in the peninsula allege this morning that the Rossoneri medical staff are now fearing the worst, as the Brazilian still feels pain in the groin area.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he could be suffering from inguinal hernia, the same problem that has beset defender Daniele Bonera.

He is expected to undergo further tests this week and should this diagnosis be confirmed, the 26-year-old will be operated on as soon as possible in order to reduce his recovery period.

Different information here

Milan director Adriano Galliani maintains that Kaka's injury problems have been exaggerated. “He could play on Sunday.”

Kaka has struggled with a variety of fitness problems over the last 12 months and his latest complaint ruled him out of the Rossoneri's game against Juventus last weekend.

The Brazilian ace set alarm bells ringing yesterday when he claimed that his back injury could take “two or three months to heal.”

“Kaka has a sportsman's hernia and you can't tell when that will heal,” Galliani told journalists.

“The thing is that you just don't know how long is needed for the recovery. He could even be back in action on Sunday.

“All we need is a little optimism and not to exaggerate,” he concluded.

A 'sportsman's hernia' is a term for a groin or pelvic injury that may be caused by damage to the lumbar or hip joint.

Something is going on our the press are making storys up.....

Darren Fletcher knows who we are. As does Robbie Savage, Lee Catermole and any other average midfielder you can think of. Does that mean we are better going for them before Kaka? I look at our position in the table and think the squad needs to add some serious quality. Chasing the ball around all day and putting in a shift for the team does not make you a good footballer (see Joey Barton).

We need strengthening all over the pitch but I can pretty much guarantee that if we went into the New Year with Kaka, Robinho and David Villa spearheading our attack (with some choice defensive additions) we would win more games than we lose.

Your argument holds no water. The trench will fail to be a trench if you have players good enough to beat teams by playing football. We shouldn't get caught in the trap of going for fighters. Although Diarra or Cambiasso would be good additions as a foil to the attack.

We'll be turning into Wigan next...

who mentioned savage or fletcher i only said the big stars need to know who we are first before we give out big money contracts

The way football finance is at the moment I can pretty well bet that every player knows who we are, and what we will become

how many times over the years have we been let down up one minute down the next i am going to get on the ride like i always do have and ride it to where ever it takes us and i mean where ever it takes us i will buy my season tickets no matter what and what ever league we are in

Ronaldinho, the Brazil playmaker, has revealed just how close he came to joining Manchester City during the summer, "Their project is the kind that would interest any player - they could soon be among the best sides in England. Lots of brilliant players are heading in their direction and yes, my brother looked properly at their offer. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 275717.ece

Hes lying or simply forgot the truth. He used man city as a bargaining chip. This was back in the days before the big takeover, where city were going nowhere near what they could be now.
