They kept saying the same about Silva, Yaya, Kompany and Aguero after they arrived at the Etihad.I was very impressed with Koulibaly when City played them. Read the game well, brought the ball out and his passing was exemplary.
But similarly with Van Dijk, why at the age of 28, did/have no "major" teams come in for them until now?
Koulibaly has been at Napoli for 5 years and no one has had a dabble?
The lad has been playing well for a few years, so why no bites from Real or Barca or City or PSG, etc?
Just seems odd.
Perhaps Koulibaly just purely believed in Sarri Ball & the Napoli project & saw promise in it. After all, Napoli (like City in England) have upset the natural order in Italy somewhat.
Perhaps with Napoli placing such a high price on his head, & being unwilling to sell for anything near a reasonable price, has made him realise his worth to the team, so he's felt no need to move on to pastures new.
It seems Napoli don't want to sell, & Koulibaly doesn't want to leave, so unless a huge offer is recieved that Napoli can't turn down, they player stays right where he is. If we want him badly enough, we'll have to break the world record paid for a defender to get him.
Does Maguire represent a better deal for us, especially as he's English?
