I have always questioned this; why do CIty hand long deals to players who can easily be improved on? Its fucking crazy as it hampers our progress as obviously its impossible to improve on the key players we have.

I picture KK with the "bags packed" imagery that he's sat at the airport every few hours he strolls duty free, the shops, picks up a magazine, looks out the window... checks his phone then let's out a resigned sigh goes back to the gate and sits and waits.
 
I think this saga proves no journalist actually has a clue what's happening. We were told a month ago a bid was being prepared and bonuses were the only issue...a month later the exact same thing.

Not so much for the money but freeing up places. We have all the same defenders as last season, plus Ake. Adding KK without moving some on would leave us with a couple of defenders too many.

This saga is completely ridiculous at this point. Not that Koulibaly will need much time to slot in, but the season's officially started now. Either pay the money or move on. We look so desperate to get him it's absolutely no wonder that ADL isn't moving on price.
 
Can’t wait for ADL to raise the price after we get smacked by Wolves repeatedly on the counter.

Trying to shift players from the wage bill first probably has to be taken into account too though. Plus it very much weakens our hand with the sales of Ota and potentially Stones/Garcia if we bring KK in beforehand.

How dumb would another team have to be to think we don't really want to sell Otamendi this window?
