I think he's got another developmental leap in him as he has all the raw materials to be a top CM/DM hybrid like Ferna was. He's also super aggressive and tenacious which I really like.

He's obviously splitting opinion though judging by this thread!

hope he doesnt read it then................... ;-)

pep obviously sees enough he can work with now and the areas he can improve phillips in? The dippers have been linked with phillips as well so the worlds two best managers seem to think he has something and want to work with him?
Isn't it Txiki that deals with signing new players though? Obviously Pep will have seen some of his performances but I doubt he will have done an in depth analysis as he simply doesn't have the time. He spends 10 months of the year obsessing over his own team and whoever we're playing next and then has a few weeks off to recharge. From what I can work out, Pep trusts Txiki's judgment on players because they're on a similar wavelength but that doesn't mean he won't make mistakes.

As for him being linked with Liverpool and therefore Klopp must rate him, players get linked with clubs who aren't interested all the time to fill column inches.

Suspect that it will “accelerate” in the next 7 days. Doesn’t sound like Leeds are hugely resistant to it and I wonder if it allows them to ignore all but the silliest offers for Raphinha.

Also, shows how little I know about football, I watched him last night and thought he looked like a Pep player. ;)
From a Leeds perspective it’s selling both Raphinha and Phillips that worries me the most. We just survived last season and I’m left wondering if they’ll be 3 teams as bad as Burnley, Watford and Norwich this time. We need a rebuild as it is and we all thought we’d just about accept selling one, thinking it’d be more likely Raphinha, but selling both would leave us with perhaps too much to do. We’re pretty inconsistent with signings success too.

there is a team who look at transfers etc but without question imo pep will be involved in every signing the club makes as its him that has to work with the player? Txiki does the player and agent part and works with the scouts and data team etc but pep wont just accept txiki saying right we are getting phillips for you without pep studying videos etc of him and generally watching highlights, games etc.

Maybe we need a poll included in the thread ;-) @Ric lol

Sounds like he genuinely only wants to go to Barcelona this summer, and I personally think there's almost no chance they'll meet your valuation. So I suspect he'll end up staying another season. If you sold both you'd have a huge amount of money to play with, but you'd have to get the recruitment spot on.

People talk about "players who have been doubted when signed" but honestly I can't remember a player we signed I was this uninspired by, I absolutely did not feel this way about Ake/grealish/*insert doubted player here*.

He's no Tal Ben-Haim or Scott Sinclair, but not everyone can be a legend
