Kalvin Phillips

What was said as in the criticism? Because all I've read is people keep posting "can't believe the criticism he is getting"
You must be doing some very selective reading. I’d say it’s probably 50/50 on this thread praise and criticism. I’m in the he did OK camp, not sure what some people would expect if him coming on in the situation as it was but if he was as bad as some say he was we would possibly have lost or drawn that game

What do you class as Criticism? I class he is shite as criticism and not good enough as constructive! By the way I Back Pep decision Everytime

Have a feelling he is in for a surprise, maybe expecting bit of playing time now with Rodri off and Kovacic not fully fit, but expect Pep to put Lewis, Stones or even Akanji to midfield before starting Phillips. and then Rodri will be back, and Kovacic too.

based on his interview after the game he views this next few weeks a huge chance, lets see how Pep decides.

4 away games coming up in a row, not even easy ones. Castle, Wolves, Leipzig, Arsenal.
Wolves the weakest of these, but I saw them using their midfielders really well vs United and Pool too.they lost both but deffo created some good chances and should have won at Old Toilet if they finish their sitters and get the pen.

I said the same pretty much in the Rodri thread.

I think he starts against Newcastle and maybe Wolves, but for Leipzig and Arsenal away I think Stones gets the nod if fit.

A lot depends on how well he does perform this week.

I don't see him starting 4 games on the bounce. Not with his injury record. Newcastle and champs league. The wolves arsenal games I'm expecting nunes, kovacic and bernardo as the midfield 3 if all fit.

Looked at his stats not good but we were down to 10 men! The hope he has and he keeps repeating is that Rodri and Grealish give him hope?! What he isn't looking at is that those players got loads of playing time first season they were here! He hasn't!
