Kalvin Phillips

I have a strong feeling that these next 3 games without Rodri will determine whether he has a future with us or not.

Hopefully he is extremely hungry, motivated and ready to step up.

He did ok yesterday.

According to a Leeds season ticketholder I know well he is one of those players who needs games to get up to speed. Whether he will get them now or Kova and Nunes will be paired as a double pivot is yet to be seen.

I want KP to do well, I really do, but he wasn't good yesterday. There were plus points I'll grant you, he made some good runs and has the ability to pick a pass through or over the lines too, but as a defensive midfielder in the Rodri role he was poor. He lost pretty much every physical battle, he was usually in the wrong place to receive the short pass (you don't really notice how Rodders is always there until he or his replacement isn't) and generally looked confused about his role.
He was good and is good. Is he good enough maybe not but comparing him to Rodri is daft. Nobody in the world is Rodri level

Pep has seen enough of him he know what he can do or not in training what we haven't seen is Philips getting 3/4 games on the bounce! Like I've said think he Will get the cup game then back on the bench for wolves
