Kalvin Phillips

If he doesn't work out again then shipping would become more difficult. West Ham have money they would a paid a good amt now they will pay this money for clown like Mctommy

I can't help but feel that if we really wanted him gone, we could have made him leave.

We're halfway there by signing Kovacic. Just tell him he's surplus to requirements and won't play, and then make a serious effort to bring in Lavia as his replacement. He'd surely see the writing on the wall. The fact that we've not signed someone to definitively take his place (Kovacic could be seen as replacement for Gundo) will obviously give him hope of a future here.

I think if he'd been told that Pep doesn't rate him and he'd be behind Rodri, Kovacic, Stones and Lewis in the pecking order, as well as someone like Lavia being brought in, he'd have taken one of the many offers to move on, and we'd have gotten our money back. I think signing Rice would also have done the trick.

What I fear will happen now is that he spends another season on the bench, we're left a body short in midfield again, his value plummets and we miss out on Lavia to Liverpool or Chelsea.

Suppositions are always interesting, either way in the debate.

Is this guy gonna be the new FFS? Feels even worse that lavia now looks a better prospect. Il back him as he's our player but I just can't see it still

No,because while Mahrez was frustrating he was also capable of world class moments, and he contributed well to our recent success. It was only the occasional brainfarts and inconsistency that earned him the silly nickname.

Philips wont get the time on the pitch to gain a nickname.

I'd just like to point out regarding Kalvin's "injury ridden season" that he's actually only had 1 injury and has been fully fit since november and in fact has been in every single matchday squad since the world cup
