Kalvin Phillips

Are we allowed to loan him out ?

I would have thought that a guy like him who seems over happy with his own mediocrity wouldn’t be the right kind of character to have around a dressing room full of highly motivated winners but last season’s success seems to put paid to that theory. Maybe the others need a jovial fall guy to have around.

If there aren't any more transfers then it makes sense to keep Phillips. Even if Pep isn't going to utilize him.

I think us not playing him is our way of letting him know he should look for another club, I just don’t think we are the type of club to drag him in the office and tell him
We want him out.
Unfortunately he’s dug his heels in and thru whatever medium has said he will stay and fight for his place.
Could be genuine or simply on too much money to walk away.
Whatever the reason there’s no way the waistcoat can use him ahead of players who are playing every week.
Kalvins choice I suppose but his stock is at an all time low now.
Joe Hart begs to differ

Harry Maguire likes this post

That fella who leapt onto Haalands back at the weekend has spent more time on the pitch than Philipps.
I cannot understand why he is getting no gametime at all.
If its just simply a case of not being good enough, why does he want to stay and why do we want to keep him.
A footballers prerogative is to get as much gametime as he can, its what they live for
Moving to a club that will provide him with this should be his objective.
I think it’s mostly because our games have all been close barring the Burnley game.

Waistcoat's announcing the England squad at 5pm today. It'll be interesting to see if Philips makes the squad.

If not, this could prompt a move to interested parties (Liverpool in particular), or a loan to get regular football.

He can't possible want to spend another 12 months on the bench? ¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯

What a strange City career he's had.

I really hope it comes good for him, as unlikely as that currently looks. It'll be some redemption story.

Welp that's the end for Kalvin as a DM @ City.

He's got to ranked 7th in DM atm.

Rodri
Kova
Nunes
Stones
Akanji
Bernardo

all ahead of him.

I just don't see a redemption arc here unless he's the new Walker backup @ RB!

Rico as well.

I think Pep would also start Ederson as the DM before KP
Ederson as a dm with Ortega as the keeper would be fun to see. Maybe then Ederson also gets a chance to take a penalty as an outfield player.

As a dm he'd literally be the brazillian Pirlo!

This is more than about football.

I reckon him and Pep must have had a proper rumble after the World Cup.

I refuse to believe he is that bad.
