Kalvin Phillips

Zinchenko was worse than all of them, rose tinted specs by all cos he was a nicer feller but he’s a lower league standard footballer and we robbed arsenal of £30m
Im not having this. Top drawer? Absolutely not. Lower league? No way. And fully played his part in getting us over the line to titles. Guy has an elite mentality.

I used to tell the Arsenal fans on here that Zinchenko was always caught at the scene of every accident and that they would realise sooner or later.

How’s he doing now mate, he’s proven me right at Arsenal, one of the worst signings they’ve ever made for the money.

We won titles in spite of him.

You said he was a lower league footballer which is patently false.

And FWIW i didn't expect him to do much at Arsenal either. He brought a bit of title winning experience but he was never going to be a player that would transform them into champions and I dunno why they bought him really.

Agreed. Was decent against Villa in the 3-2 final game of the season when he came on. From memory he set up one of the goals. Against PSG he played well. He did a job and was solid. Was never a world beater.

I remember him in that game really well. After the second Villa goal went in there were a couple of our players whose heads completely went and they dropped to the ground (cancelo was one) but Zinchenko was the first one to order everyone back to it and to fight to the end. He was a good squad player for us who did his bit.

The only issues with Zinchenko were that we had world class elite players in his favoured position. Also, he lacked pace.

What I'll always remember about him was his determination to succeed. After his poor loan spell in Holland & City willing to listen to offers for him, he stated he wanted to stay & vowed to make a success of his career at City.

Every step of the way he was doubted. Because of our bewildering lack of LB's & Pep's love of a small squad, he got his chance there. Whilst never setting the world alight, he proved a useful cog in Guardiola's machine, albeit we were shorn of alternative options.

I always felt he'd fall short at City, but I was impressed with his fighting spirit.

While that's true.. he also did cost us the CL final in 2021 by not covering his man.

Pep did learn from this and went with 4 solid CB's in 2023 and even then we were lucky to nick the CL.

The old adage is true.. offense wins games but defense wins titles!

Walked up to the ground with some gooners for that cup game after theyd bought him

They were gloating that theyd got zinchenko and jesus, robbed 2 of our best players, theyll take them across the line.

Oh how i smirked. They werent having it that they were both mid level players and we dont sell players to rivals who are our best players

In fairness Zinchenko wasn’t a fullback or a wing back. He was a supplementary midfielder who wasn’t good enough to be in the 1st 6 picks for midfield sadly.

What a life he has. All he will do now is train with the City squad while being paid £100k a week.

I’d beg him to let me have his life even for just 2 weeks…

Have a kick around every day.
No commitments to having to play and embarrass himself.
Easy life.
Great food all made for him.

Incredible
The useless twat is on 150k per week!

Find a lot of young social media fans judge players on stats, I always go of the eye test.

Cancelo for all his faults and it’s not lost that he left and we went on to win the treble, so right call to get rid!

He was a wonderful footballer and for one season in particular really made a difference for us.

Nunes in no way could do that!
Yet Nunes scored the last minute goal v Villa that probably made the difference between finishing in the champions league & not the Europa League
