im just reading between the lines and this is just a hunch!. . . . . . . . . . I think keane is very bitter about something.

He's a bitter man who can't stand anyone going against what he says or does, the guy is a bully pure and simple.
He's now getting his come uppance as a manager by failing badly and i for one am loving it.

A lot was said about the Irish defence but for me that interview was 100% about Saipan.

Very well observed, moomba.

totally agree.

Definitely, he's never got over that just like he never got over Haaland taking the piss after Keane knackered his own knee. He's an unbearably bitter and twisted personality but he was absolutely right about the mobile phone, he should have rammed it up the journos arse!

I think he is right as well. Don't agree with how he voices his opinions. THere is no need to get angry about it but he is telling the truth.

I can't help but think that I hope we get an honest manager one day. Someone who wouldn't give u what you want to hear but the honest truth.

Tin hat on for that comment.

Stuart Pearce was one, and surely you don't want him back ;)

I'm sick of hearing Stuart Pearce slagged off on here. He did a great job with no money and should have the respect of every genuine supporter.

He wasn't a superstar manager and probably never will be, but he saved us in circumstances that a lot of lesser characters would have walked away from.

Respect to the man.

He talks about the journo having no class , i remember the c.unt in town , bladdered , giving it the big i'am , until someone put him in his place . I'll never forget the hard man suddenly doing an impression of a wobbly plate of jelly . The fuckin' arsehole .

I don't buy into all this "I like the way he speaks his mind", "At least he's honest", blah blah, I think the guy is out of order in attacking some of the Irish lads, especially Given. Shay didn't know McShane was going to let it run, I wouldn't blame him at all. He said the integrity of the game was not damaged by what happened, WTF?! I suppose he thinks it improved the image of the game then. He is obviously still bitter about 2002. He was right about the FAI's incompetence, but to let the whole country down by having a tantrum and getting himself sent home when he was our best player was selfish to say the least. There was clearly something still nagging at him in that interview, I think he is a bit of an attention seeker to be honest. Look at how much coverage this interview got, he must have known it would. Never liked the guy

I personally tend to agree with what he says but hes clearly bitter and as mad as a box of frogs.

Whats quite amusing is that hes starting to look like David Byrne of Talking Heads who himself is completely insane.
