It's deeply concerning that he would choose to do something as needlessly destructive as this during a general election campaign that he's already nailed on to win. He's timid AF.
His ability to read the public mood and make judgements is extremely poor. Rather than try to sell any thoughtful or progressive ideas he's just trying to look tough by doing things like this.
One of the tweets that's been cited against her is where she liked a tweet about someone stepping down from the green party years before she even joined labour. This is thought police type bollocks. He's a total embarrassment.
It was ever thus. The Bennites in the early 80s, Blair. This from 1999 talking about Blair’s continued internal reforms.
‘The Labour leadership will embark on the final stage of internal party reform this weekend by moving to break the stranglehold of leftwing "cliques" in local constituency parties.
A consultation paper - titled 21st Century Party: members the key to our future - will be published on Sunday and is likely to be the most explosive issue at next week's party conference in Bournemouth.’
Two years after his win, Blair was still working to keep a firm grip on the party. It’s pretty much standard Labour operating procedure :)
