All i did was correct your lack of historical knowledge on some countries and how a country borrows money. You havent taken that very well have you. I wont lose any sleep tonight. You Mat and Rascal would do well as ardent socialists to just admit when you have a fact or two wrong. Rather than just trying to obtain some bizzare moral high ground.

I don’t think this is a shock.

Labour do not represent millions of people and at council level in particular they are pretty terrible.

the Lib Dem and conservative councillors in my area - people know who they are, they are local and seem to actually care about some of the local issues. The Labour councillors I don’t have a clue who they are and the only time I’ve heard from them is when they are signing away green belt ( for ridiculously priced average houses).

Labour need to get away from London and start connecting with the towns , working class and have a bit of pride in Britain otherwise they will never win another election.

I live in the same area as you and my Labour councillor is brilliant, I never hear from the Tories and the Lib Dems dare not come near my house because I would get very very sweary at them.

I have read many books on ww2, probably 25 to 30 so its a bit of a nerdy hobby for me. So i do know a little bit about the subject. Perhaps those historians are all wrong and your chap is right. Best leave it there.

Anyway back on track, i did call this, I said Starmer wasnt electable for the northern working class and they should have picked Nandy. Most on here said i was wrong. I cant recall what you said Rascal.

There's a big difference between:

- a myth that the right wing play on (Rascal)
and
- an extreme right wing ideological myth (your interpretation)

i do actually. Bonds and Gilts my friend as i pointed out in an earlier post.

There doesn't have to be an issue of bonds and gilts when the government controls the money supply. This is a choice of central banks to meet monetary policy targets not a fixed step in the system.

I always said Starmer was not electable, Neither is Nandy.

Labour should dissolve as a party, let the centrists go there way and follow their Blairite whatevers

Leave us on the Left to get on with opposing the Tories not appeasing or imitating them.

i don’t live there now. Moved to the other side of Stockport a few months back. My comment was about where I live now and previously. The ones in cheadle seemed ok, but I preferred the Lib Dem mps/ councillors. Ian roberts in particular was very active in the local community. Very surprised if you haven’t heard of him. Mark Hunter as well. Barely heard anything from Labour the 27 years I lived there, other then when it was election season...

The Labour councillors in that area in particular are adamant on building over the green belt in Heald green, which I am completely opposed to. More unaffordable housing and the loss off huge part of the area
