Keir Starmer

I don't think they have the power to do that.

It's almost certainly planned, but I think it's more that Sam Tarry is just trying to promote himself as he is facing deselection. He's going to have to win a selection contest if he wants to remain as an MP, and I'd guess the higher his profile, the more likely he'll be able to get people to turn up and vote for him.
I think this is spot on, unfortunately.

Except others have joined pickets and not been sacked.

As far as I know he was the only one to give interviews without approval from comms or his bosses.
My MP was told not to expect a shadow ministerial job in the near future.

Tarry has been warned his reselection might be an issue.

Was it not an issue before he started doing media interviews?

Seems it is why he decided to give himself a promotion live on TV.

I've given you a video clip.

Did you watch it?

"Shadow Secretary of state", there was only one person with that title and it wasn't him.

He gave several interviews, he didn't make the mistake of promoting himself in the interview with the BBC,so why do it with Sky and not correct himself?

He wanted to be sacked.
Ah sorry was on the way out to work only had a quick listen and tbh was concentrating on whether he said the or a, as I thought that was the issue.

I have no idea but if he only said it in one interview could it be a slip of the tongue? Fail to see why he would make himself look a **** on purpose. Besides I thought he was sacked for 'making up policy on the hoof' and unscheduled media appearances?

Not sure he wanted to be sacked I think it was more a case of he knew he would be once he went on camera. He could have stayed on the picket posted a picture on Twitter saying solidarity and still been sacked. He could have survived and disappeared quietly in the next reshuffle who knows? He's clearly got a target on his back after all.

The inescapable fact is what he said was spot on and should be the position of the party of labour.

How many have been sacked for posting pictures?

None as far as I aware, and sacking a PPS is hardly comparable to sacking a transport minister for voicing an opinion on a transport dispute.

Then again that is hardly the point. He could stayed away completely and spent some quality time with Ange, but ultimately he knew it was a matter of time and chose to not go quietly.

Any manoeuvre that gives a slight wobble to the fence Starmer and co are perched on is a good move in my book.
