Economic literacy is NOT the same thing as understanding how government works. Farage was talking about their lack of experience in government not saying "we are a bunch of economic numpties".

Look at the CVs of the Labour front bench. How many of them have run a company? How many can read a set of accounts and understand what the figures mean? At least Reform have some actual business people on board.
