Keith Curle

Wouldn't mind him now, flying down the wing. How good was this goal and against Spurs to make it even better.
He had a little bit of a "dirty" tackle in him too.

The lack of a celebration by Terry or any of the other players makes it even cooler

"we've got that Terry Phelan ohhhhh that Terry Phelan"

Think the lack of Celebration was because we was 4-1 down in a 1/4 final

If I remember correctly most of the fans in the platt lane followed him on that run up the pitch and ended up squaring off on the pitch with the spurs fans who had the north stand
Was Pure frustration, we looked good that season and a final looked on the cards .. we just didn’t turn up that day , when he set off on the run the fans in the platt lane seemed to pushing forward as he beat one , pushed forward and forward as he kept going then as the ball went in we just spilled out on the pitch and some kept going .. talk about being swept up in a moment

I remember when he was in superb form for us and I think it was Graham Taylor played him at right back for England, he had a shocker
If I was the manager Tony Derigo would never have played for England after that. Curle was made a scape goat after Dorigo refused to play right back and Curle stepped in.

He's still one of my favourite ever City CBs. He used to lump it a lot but that was the only because that was the way football was played back then.

He was so comfortable on the ball though. 30 years ahead of his time in that respect.

He used to lump it a lot because that was the style of football that Sam Ellis imposed on the squad.

But, as you said, a classy defender, who was also very quick.

And, until March, the last City player to score a penalty at the swamp.

And what a penalty it was, remember it like it was yesterday, if only David white hadn't spooned his chance it would have been a perfect evening
