Kelechi Iheanacho

He was still dropping deep and playing passes even if he lined up as a CF. He was great either way, trust me.

He mainly switched between the right of the front three and the centre with Pozo. When he was through the middle he still came back deep to get the ball and played a lovely through ball for Pozo to score. I think he'll be able to play anywhere and really effect a game so i wouldnt worry too much.

If rumours are true regarding Dzeko and Jovetic being moved on I don't see why we wouldn't allow that fourth striker spot to be up for grabs for the talent we have in the academy, Kelechi has certainly made a case for being included.

Didnt see the game but guessing he did quite well? Looks like he can stick up for himself too I noticed during the FA youth cup.

Kelechi is better than a 4th striker. He should be one of 3

Though i didn't stay for Extra Time last night as i had to pick someone up, i thought he turned the game round last night (along with Angelino who also came on at half time)

He started at wide right & just looked threatning, switched to a central role after about 10/15 mins & looked for it deep but was pretty much always there in the middle if the ball went out wide and was crossed in.

Looked strong & & wasn't bullied by any Leicester players, his goal was a very calm finish to a lovely move once he got 1 on 1 with keeper, even had time to shift it to his left foot. Great ball for Pozo's goal too.

I've been trying not to get carried away with the hype for this lad as pre season can be mis leading at times, but must say the last 2 games i've been impressed & you can tell he looks like he's at least worth a try, maybe even in the last 2 games on the bench if we're guarenteed 2nd or 3rd!

When you consider that we've only seen him pre-season which can be deceiving plus 70 minutes against Chelsea and 75 minutes last night (I'm ignoring his 5 minute cameo when he got injured again) he's always stood out as being well above EDS level. There's no way on gods earth that he's playing youth football next season. He's got to be in the 1st team squad.

Seasoned professionals would kick him all over the place

Sterling and Ibe have coped pretty well.

Get him on our bench and give him some minutes! the boost for him and us at the end of a disappointing season would do wonders.

They can and will try but he will handle it

I agree,he appears a tough little character and has that arrogance/confidence trait that separates him from the norm.

It will take a while before he adapts but the friendlies last summer suggest he can handle it.

He couldn't be any less reliable than Dzeko or Jovetic off the bench tbh, he looks physically ready and looks to have the mentality to not wilt or hide under the spotlight

Went to the game last night and have to say that he looks a player. When you factor in the limited amount of time that he must have had playing with the players he was with last night then he really stood out.

As anyone who watched the Youth Cup game vs Chelsea could see. he is still very raw with his talent, but he definitely has talent there.

Whether he is ready to be in contention with the first team yet is another matter altogether. If things are looking sewn up vs Southampton at home it would be good to stick him on for 20 minutes, but he's one for the future for sure.

Definitely agree with all the comments above..... you can tell that this lad has utter belief in his ability and over in Nigeria this lad is being shouted at from the fans to be included in the full national side.

The rumour I have read over their in their press is that it is a few certain full national players for the super eagles that are stopping this from happening by putting pressure on the coach.

He will only get better and throw in a few tricks to beat players he has the ability to reach the top

The Southampton game could be the perfect opportunity to give Iheanacho and Barker a run out.

There's a good chance we won't have anything to play for in that game, I think our top 3 spot will be confirmed by then.

A lot of youngsters are overhyped, but I genuinely think Iheanacho could be world class.

I have to agree, I think for PR and to give the whole club a lift now that it seems nailed on we'll finish at least 3rd we should be using these last 3 games to give the younger players a cameo off the bench. I think we could be really clever about it too, bringing on Barker for Lampard writes its own headlines, or even Milner for that matter.

I was holding out for the work permit to be sorted when it was clear we weren't replacing Negredo last summer because I think he's a player we can throw in at the deep end. He coped making his full debut in the Youth Cup final showing he won't be overawed with playing on the big stage, like he had on pre-season. An eye for a goal and other attributes I would be interested to know just how tall he is because I don't think it's quite the 6"1 somebody has quoted on here.

I wouldn't be too disappointed if he's not counted as 1 of the 4 strikers I feel we should have in our squad for next season as that's putting him under unnecessary pressure and admittedly would be a gamble. What I do think is that he's good enough to be in and around the first team squad for cup games and in an injury crisis rather than looking at a 4-5-0 formation again because I think when given a chance he will make his mark and I think it will spark a lot of media interest when he does.

If we have a repeat of this season, what I hope for and if all goes well (no injuries) you would be seeing Kelechi pushing Jovetic out of the picture, Lopes applying pressure to Nasri during his slump. The key is that when these lads are called upon they have to perform and in these 2 players particularly I'm confident we've found that.
