Kelechi Iheanacho

He's got a summer to work on his right foot. Nearly all the trouble or issues he had today were because he needed to shift the ball onto his favored foot. This isn't surprising for a young player to need this but the difference at this level is that he's just not going to have time to always get the ball over to make the pass or shot.

He really put himself about and Aguero really did seem to get in his head early. Still bagged one in and I love how he makes the near post run and pressures the goal mouth in general. He scored a fair number of poachers goals this season and that's fantastic for us. You combine the high degree of difficulty goals we tend to score with some cheaper doc in the box stuff and you do a lot better than 4th

Yes, I could forgive his error because he is young. But this doesn't make the error any less his, and anymore someone else's. It's still his error, even if it is understandable. Ota slid in to attempt a tackle. He failed, bit the error of continuing to put us under pressure was Kelechi's

Back to the original statement, I still stand by my statement that Ianacheo's misplaced pass did not cost us the goal as stated elsewhere

If you disagree then fine. I've nothing else to add

He'll learn a lot from today. He looked broken in the sky interview.

Fuck me

He's 19

First season in senior football

Our third top goalsscorer

And there's people getting on his back for one poor game in which he scored.

Lads going to be class

He's not technically gifted, sometimes he looks like Lescott with ball but he is scoring goals and hopefully will finish like Dzeko and similar goal scorers who were not really that great footballers but very good goal scorers.

If I was going through the whole squad and reviewing the season Kelechi is the ONLY player who would be exempt from any criticsm whatsoever. 19 years old and ripping it up despite being completely starved of opportunities. Was it his best game today? No but his goal secured Champions League football for next season. I find it ludicrous that some blues are on his back especially when theres much bigger issues with this side.

Yes you should defo watch it again especially his interchanging with De Bruyne and Aguero some very promising passages of play with him in the thick of it... made some mistakes sure enough(nobodies saying he was brilliant today) but far from "woeful" got our only goal was involved in most of our best chances I think that says it all.

Watched it again and he had numerous poor moments and some good ones but the poor stood out most for me today. Woeful may be harsh but I suspect if it was Bony we were talking about words of that ilk would be bandied about.

And in response to another poster, this is not about getting on Nacho's back: I have very high hopes for the lad but to meet them will require him to deliver to a very high standard and, whilst I do not expect him to get there yet, he will be marked against those standards.

His biggest issue today was having to play alongside Kun who was interested in only himself and his quest for the golden boot.

I'm actually getting pissed off with Kun, as magnificent as he can be and his selfish play.

Early in the game Kelechi didn't play him in and boy did Kun let him know and it clearly affected the lad imo.

I envisage Kun getting quite a bit of instruction from Pep.

It's what we do best on here blue, criticize. Lad will be a star.
