Ken Barnes R.I.P

Ken was playing in my first ever game, will be remembered as a great. RIP Ken, best wishes to all his family.

Almost certainly true as a family member posted a few pages back and she should know.

My late father spoke very highly of Ken and I had the pleasure to see many of Peter's games for us.

Ken's work behind the scenes was just as important also.

I'm sure the club will arrange a fitting tribute/memorial to him.

Finally, I'm sure that it would please Ken to know that the club is in good hands and he can look down and see the new stadium full of happy fans cheering on the lads to future glories.

RIP Ken.
 
An absolute gentleman, a great family man and a City legend.

I met him on a few occasions, a decade or so ago, as he provided moral support for the club that I managed at the time. Peter would come along for a pint as well. They both wanted no more than a good chat about football in general and City in particular.

Ken was a football man through and through, the like of which we will not see again. I also pass on my sympathies to his family. A minute's silence is in order at the appropriate time.
