He's talking out of his arse.
Al Fahim was at a dinner party six months prior to our purchase. He was sat next to Piers Morgan who suggested Abu Dhabi took a look at Arsenal (who had a new stadium BTW)
Al Fahim took the proposal to his bosses and they in turn entrusted Amanda Staveley to look at potentials.
Arsenal was considerered too expensive because of how the board was made up, the success they had already attained.
Shinawatra, by this time, had also put it out that he was looking to sell and through his diplomatic connection and right hand man, was also looking for political asylum.
The only club that was in contention was Newcastle United, but Ashley got greedy and the books were in a mess.
Staveley pushed for City because of the surrounding areas in terms of development, Manchester as a city, the price and the prospect of making us successful.
Al Fahim and Staveley played the biggest role in Sheikh Mansour buying City.
Luck did not come in to it.

On the one hand they despise City for supposedly ruining football with all their can't buy team spirit and 'istory bollocks. Yet at the same time they are absolutely desperate to get a Sheikh Mansour on board.
There is a word for this kind of behaviour. Oh yeah, its JEALOUSLY.
And it couldn't have happened to a nicer club. These days I hate Everton almost as much as I hate u****d. Everton fans make Spurs fans appear almost bearable.
