Kenwright says Everton could have gone to Man City owners

I have heard a story about Everton but don't know if its true or not. However it did involve copies of letters or memos from one of the parties involved so it could well be true.

They were approached by someone (might have been ADUG but never knew for sure due to client confidentiality) and were asked to agree and sign certain standard pre-negotiation agreements before talks could take place. However they refused and proposed some of their own. These got laughed out of the lawyers' offices, the lawyers reported to their client that Everton's board were unprofessional and the party involved refused to deal with them anymore.

As I say, might be 100% true or complete bull.
 
When an investor buys into a football club they look at the initial costs,the infrastructor in place,fan base,merchandising etc etc in other words,the clubs potential or, as another poster said, prospects, to see how much it would take to take it to the next level (even though you dont actually buy potential).Clearly Everton had non of these.....

Kenwright did attempt to sell to a farmer, but they were royally fucking him.
