Kev Still The King

I was outside Scunny before the game yesterday, and King Kev turned up (in a mightily impressive Bentley!) and got out, stood there for over 20 minutes in the drizzle signing autographs and getting photographed,

Absolute gent of a man, and the City fans there gave him a great reception.

I'm glad that some at City still remember the happy times he brought us, rather than worrying about his mistakes. When he went, I've no complaints that he had to go, but I don't think enough Blues realise the cracking job he did.

Oh, and the "he's not a Premiership manager"... first season back in the Premiership we finished 9th.... which is something Hughes couldn't do even after spending the thick end of £120m.

Took Newcastle to 4th. ... 3rd... and 2nd.... and if we get a manager that could achieve that he will be canonised and given the Freedom of Manchester! Oh, and an FA Cup final as well...

Im never one for these end of season reviews on dvd, but the season we won Division 1, i have that one and everyone now and again watch it still.

In those days it was ITV Digital and it seemed we were live every week on it. The football we played was superb. Midfield of Huckerby, berkovic, Ali and SWP with the Goat up front. Pace and sublime football.
The rivalry we had with Wolves that year, untill we did them on thier own patch.
Horlock (i think) being sent off in first few minutes v Norwich and we still won.
Ali's debut away at Sheffiled Wednesday when we thumped them 6-2.

In the end it seemed we did everyone 4-1 each week.

And, with the very very last kick of the ball in the season, a penalty to us, Pearce's last game before retiring and stuck on 99 league goals, with the last kick a chance to make it 100. Dave beasent in goal told him which way he way going to dive (game already won) only for Pearce to put it over in one of those typical city moments.

Was a trully brilliant season and the football awesome to watch

great memories but it was tiatto who got sent off against norwich then he booted the water bottles and went for worthington, also benarbia's debut was a home game aginst brum which we won 3-0, the 6-2 against sheff wed was his 3rd game as we had lost at coventry during the week 4-3.

Great year to be a blue, thanks KK
