Would have had a hattrick of assists if they had a striker with their shooting boots on.
I normally agree with many of your posts Shaelumstash but with this one you are so far away from reality it's untrue.
Kev was the best Belgian player on the pitch by a million miles, set up four what should have been certain goals. Sadly Lukaku (twice) and Origi (twice) just pissed them away in grand style. On top of that he put some passes in that put 3 or 4 Belgians on there way but this drew some dubious (or is that fantastically crafted?) Italian yellow card fouls.
I'm really surprised by your post, mate. We all want City players to do well at the Euro's, and I'm sure DeBruyne will be back to his best and having great games again soon.
But I can't for the life of me figure out how you could have watched that game and thought he played well? The commentator, Martin Keown, Richard Dunne, and some of his biggest fans on here, all thought he had a stinker tonight.
Unless you think all of those people are " so completely removed from reality it's untrue"?
He put in a great cross for Origi and played a decent first time ball for Lukaku, but did little else over the 90 minutes. He gave the ball away cheaply and was completely anonymous for long periods. He's capable of so much more.
He needs people running into space, and no one seemed to be doing that yesterday., I thought. He did what he has done often with us. In and out of the game, quiet for large periods and guilty of giving the ball away cheaply but still able to provide what little spark the match had with chances on a plate for players who should have scored. It's easy to see how he gets such impressive stats. Had somebody been on the end of his crosses he'd likely have been given the MoTM award, as it is, the fine lines in football say he was poor.
But that's the reason he is so good - even when he, and his team were having a poor game, he still managed to create three wonderful opportunities.I'm really surprised by your post, mate.
