He's played very deep in the two games against Liverpool, especially last night. He did look tire in the second half but still think he was good. It wasn't his job to support our wingers in the half space. His job was to dictate and control the game from a central position.

Yes - this was the one big mistake I felt we made over the last three games. Kevin is more than capable of playing in that position, but it means his best passes are further from the goal, and the team overall is less incisive than when her plays in the #8 position.

The problem is you need distribution from deep to beat Klopp sides. Someone has to get it over or through the press, and Fernandinho's passing isn't good enough especially with Firmino stuck to him, neither is Kompany's or Otamendi's really although he had been showing some signs of improvement earlier in the season.

That's why we need a real passer at the base of midfield and probably Laporte to step up in defence. If you've got 2 players who can play a good 20-30 yard aerial pass under a bit of pressure plus Ederson then you can bypass Liverpool's entire defence, or force them to drop off and spread out which then gives you the time and space for Silva, KDB, Gundogan etc to play their natural game.
