I am hopeful he will be back before the end of the season. He walked off without too much discomfort but rightly took the precaution not to play on.

Hopefully he can make it back for the Leicester or Brighton game and be ready for the cup final. A huge blow not to have him fit for Wednesday though.

World class player but looking like he his now become injury prone. We'll no the answer next season .

... Inspirational. The club are trying to encourage players that have the right attitude, workrate and team ethic. Kev is top drawer and was magnificent on Wednesday. He has the shared passion of the fans...

Attitude and passion, absolutely. A key point of Pep's and City's scouting.
Pep wants to win any single match and you need fully committed players for that philosophy.

That's why we have him, Fern, David, Bernardo, Laporte, Komps, Raz, Sergio, Zin, Mendy, Ederson, Ota, Jesus.
And Kyle who has quite some footballing deficits IMO,
but talking about his physicality, energy and passion there is not a better fullback out there.

Attitude and passion exactly is the problem for Mahrez or Leroy. Not sure if they can develope to what Pep wants.

Gündogan is 100% committed, you could see how devastated he was after losing the CL tie to lucky spurs.
Many on here don't like him for not crashing into any single 1on1 full power, but I like that. Staying injury free is much more important.
He has to play so intelligent to not be forced into those dangerous situations.

And there is where KDB is different. He is always on red alert, so eager and playing on 120%, that I would hope he comes to the point to manage his body more consciously in order to stay fit. He has so much more than any other player that 95% is more than good enough.

Both KDB and Ilkay have had their severe injuries and they have to handle that. Ilkay does perfectly well.
KDB has his strong personality - thinking about that superb interview - and it's difficult for him to not give 100% and step back somtimes.
It's a risk/reward ratio.

I hope KDB has an injury free season next season.

BEST Midfielder in Europe imo and it would be a crying shame were he not recognised as that.

Keep it in context, he's had one difficult season.
Your right about keeping it in context. .
But my mind takes me back to comments made by the Belgium fitness coach couple of years back, straight after the euros. .his concerns about the demands made on top European players who play in the most demanding leagues and then thru the summer for their countries...
It's perhaps no surprise that KDB after a glorious last season,a 3rd place finish with Belgium in the WC ..has had a difficult season this time round..trying to get back into his groove.....Game management for players is such an important part of todays game...I just hope our Kev gets a good rest this summer, for he will be at his peak ,in the prem, next season...and for our rivals ,at home and abroad that means Trouble.

I certainly agree with the jist of what you say, however in a couple of matches Gundogan has shown more aggression in his play and had a much more effective game when he's done this. Controlled aggression like Ferny, David Silva and Bernardo do so well, is ideal IMO ;-)

Must be that transfer window looming.....
