Exactly the right time for him to bow out and be remembered as one of the greatest players we have ever witnessed in a City shirt but also one of the best to have ever played full stop.

Thanks KDB.

I have only just seen the news and I am absolutely gutted. We knew the way was coming but it is still hard to take.

Let's keep this thread at the top of the page. Fuck all the financial shit. Today should be about celebrating the contribution of a true great. Who, when all the dust settles, will go down as the greatest.

I’m devestaded, he is amongst the city greatest and now is leaving. Would have loved se him retiring here. But everything comes to an end, and like many are saying it’s time, better to remember all the greatness he have done for City. And for the great player he was because he truly was there are no words for this guy!

I have seen comments about Hugo Larsson is the next KDB but never going to happen (I hope of course Swede that I am) but player like KDB is not born very often.

THANK YOU Kev! Wish you the best and thank you for everything,
So common city make sure you make him a send of that he remember!

Right move in my view. As a FOC I think the best we’ve ever had (even better than the king and just ahead of DS). An absolute pleasure to watch and now too painful to see him struggle with the pace and reactions. What a lovely goodbye note. We are special and it’s lovely to be recognised as such.
He knows that we gave him the chance to prove his ability, while other Premier League clubs just stood back, wary of taking a chance on a wolfsburg player, who's earlier time at Chelsea had hardly worked out ...... he felt welcome at City, wanted, the fans loved him, so did everybody else at the club, he felt valued, and he has responded by giving us his best days as a footballer ...... he seems to like Manchester as a place too.

He knows that he has played a major part in the greatest period of success in our entire history .... and he has earnt the respect of everybody, even fans and players at other clubs.

He will understand it if the club feel that a parting of the ways has to happen, because he will understand their reasons, he will know himself that he just can't deliver his best anymore ..... and that will NEVER do for a player of the class, quality, and professionalism of Kevin De Bruyne.

Kev would fry in Saudi! lol

He can afford plenty of shade and suntan lotion.

As he has stated before, he has to think about Saudi because it isn't just about him, it's generational wealth that benefits a lot of his friends and family.

Personally, I would like to see him go to New York, one of the great Cities and a league that he can still destroy on our behalf.

He's earned the right to take every penny on offer.

The first City midfielder to surpass 100 goals since Colin Bell.

The greatest to ever wear the shirt, the best midfielder the division has ever seen, and easily a Top 10 greatest footballer to have ever touched grass.

God Save The King.
