Bloody Belgian touristsWill he get a lifetime season ticket or flexi ticket?
Treble like for that! What you say about Colin is undoubtedly correct. Having slept on it, what Kev did that got me thinking he was the best was his passing. Yes Colin could pass of course, but Kev produced so many sublime balls and that is my thing, I just melt when I see a great pass by any player.
Colin was cruelly cut down in his prime, so what could he have done that we never got to see?
It’s Nijinski vs Shergar, how do you separate them? So, I shall place them as equal number 1.
(Shout out to David Silva for that pass in the sick swan.)
What’s Wyn Davies doing with Colin’s crown?AI has a lot to answer for.
My feelings too.It is virtually impossible to compare players from different eras. The game changes so much in every way. For example, King Colin was a master at negotiating the muddy quagmires prevalent in his day. I doubt if Kev has ever seen mud on the pitch.
Each player is unique with his own characteristics. So comparison is a fruitless task. Nevertheless, I am going to do it. I have carried the love of King Colin in my heart for over 50 years and I have no guilt in saying I think Kev was a better player. Why do I say this? I have no idea except my heart says: it’s Kev, you know, it’s Kev.
The King is dead, long live the King.
A picture that tells a story. Just look at the admiration from Messi.
When we beat Barça at the Etihad, we got a free kick just outside the box and Messi went up to De Bruyne and is rumoured to have said something along the lines of, ‘go on then, let’s see what you’ve got’…A picture that tells a story. Just look at the admiration from Messi.
That’s been me since the news broke of Kev leaving, haha
I don’t think there is a team in history that KDB doesn’t walk into. 1970 Brazil, Cruyff’s Dutch side, peak Barca. Any team any time anywhere.I don't think it's arguable. He is the greatest midfielder in PL history. People will mention Scholes or Gerrard but they had their strengths and weaknesses. De Bruyne was better than the best they could produce. Want a pass on a six pence like Scholes, De Bruyne does it but onto someone's run so they can score. Want someone with the drive to lead the team or pick up the ball and make something happen, De Bruyne over Gerrard any day of the week.
The rag and dipper PR machine will promote those two ahead of him but it's bollocks. De Bruyne is the greatest.
To think he was a £55m flop when we bought him...not too shabby that deal now!
Chelsea under PEG??? ;-)I don’t think there is a team in history that KDB doesn’t walk into. 1970 Brazil, Cruyff’s Dutch side, peak Barca. Any team any time anywhere.
Don’t think you can say that about Scholes or Gerrard.
Yep, weird mix of nostalgia, pro-England, anti-city bias that doesn't have him above Scholes and Gerrard and Lampard. Fucking miles above them.I don't think it's arguable. Proper order. What moment is it going to be based on? One of these two imo

Miles above Scholes and Gerrard. Lampard was absolutely quality.Yep, weird mix of nostalgia, pro-England, anti-city bias that doesn't have him above Scholes and Gerrard and Lampard. Fucking miles above them.
The stats say different. He scored just 2 more goals than Kev, however in 69 games more than Kev.Can't believe Chris Sutton has just said on Football Focus that Paul Scholes was better than Kevin!
They're all quality. But Kev does the best of all three of them.Miles above Scholes and Gerrard. Lampard was absolutely quality.
To be fair Scholes was much better at taking out opposition players with over the top studs up tackles that should be straight reds but were cheeky mis-timed tackles amongst Fergies boys. The stats say different. He scored just 2 more goals than Kev, however in 69 games more than Kev.
