What you say about Colin is undoubtedly correct. Having slept on it, what Kev did that got me thinking he was the best was his passing. Yes Colin could pass of course, but Kev produced so many sublime balls and that is my thing, I just melt when I see a great pass by any player.
Colin was cruelly cut down in his prime, so what could he have done that we never got to see?
It’s Nijinski vs Shergar, how do you separate them? So, I shall place them as equal number 1.

(Shout out to David Silva for that pass in the sick swan.)
Treble like for that!

It is virtually impossible to compare players from different eras. The game changes so much in every way. For example, King Colin was a master at negotiating the muddy quagmires prevalent in his day. I doubt if Kev has ever seen mud on the pitch.
Each player is unique with his own characteristics. So comparison is a fruitless task. Nevertheless, I am going to do it. I have carried the love of King Colin in my heart for over 50 years and I have no guilt in saying I think Kev was a better player. Why do I say this? I have no idea except my heart says: it’s Kev, you know, it’s Kev.
The King is dead, long live the King.
My feelings too.

I don't think it's arguable. He is the greatest midfielder in PL history. People will mention Scholes or Gerrard but they had their strengths and weaknesses. De Bruyne was better than the best they could produce. Want a pass on a six pence like Scholes, De Bruyne does it but onto someone's run so they can score. Want someone with the drive to lead the team or pick up the ball and make something happen, De Bruyne over Gerrard any day of the week.

The rag and dipper PR machine will promote those two ahead of him but it's bollocks. De Bruyne is the greatest.

To think he was a £55m flop when we bought him...not too shabby that deal now!
I don’t think there is a team in history that KDB doesn’t walk into. 1970 Brazil, Cruyff’s Dutch side, peak Barca. Any team any time anywhere.

Don’t think you can say that about Scholes or Gerrard.

Yep, weird mix of nostalgia, pro-England, anti-city bias that doesn't have him above Scholes and Gerrard and Lampard. Fucking miles above them.
