Understand why Liverpool would be enticing but why? He's won 6 PLs, an undisputed legend for us and arguably the greatest ever player in our history. Why tarnish that, for what end?
Financial gain or spite. If the reports are true then I suspect it’s a bit of both. This club legend stuff is meaningless and fans and journalists in general have always had a rather naive and blinkered view of the way footballers work.

Historically, it’s happened countless times. Gerrard and Rooney transfer requests. Lampard to us. Figo to Real Madrid. Etc.

I look at the way Liverpool fans are getting worked up over Alexander-Arnold leaving and now it’s dominating the back pages over their title win. It’s really not worth it.

I’d also hope the club doesn’t cave to pressure. This is looking similar to Ronaldo and his return to United. They signed him to avoid him going elsewhere and it left them worse off.

If you fancy him to end up down the east lancs he is 22/1 to join that mob at paddy power , 7:2 at Bet 365

In his head he still thinks he can play at the very highest level. He has said as much whenever he gets interviewed nowadays.

He doesn't want a mid-table outfit or a MLS/Saudi end of career pay day. He wants CL football, fight for a title.

He himself is probably looking at his numbers this season and comparing to the other lads in the squad and seeing that only Haaland has done better.

I think he will have no remorse in getting one over the City board by going to a Liverpool and fighting for a title again.

He will justify it in his head to the fans that Liverpool were the only wans at the top table offering him a contract and his family didn't want to move away from Cheshire.

Liverpool dont play the way thats fit KDB they never did .
They have 3 runners in midfield always have , since Cutinho left.

Only plays for him is a false nine , but Slott likes a big number 9 .
I cant see it unless he will be a impact sub.

He himself must see this unless he is ok to be a sub.

I would love him to stay as a impact sub.

Apart from playing for the team he supported as a kid, if true, he doesn’t have to up root his family, he can stay where he is currently living, he’s playing for the champions, and he’ll be playing in the CL. Unfortunately it’s the perfect move for him. :-(
His best mate is their captain also. If this is true. And it is a cost cutting exercise by us. We’re going to save a fortune in brass!

If he goes there I’d happily lead the boos when he comes back to the etihad.

They bricked the bus with him on, they threw coins at Pep, they were part of the witch hunt against us trying to diminish KDBs successes at city.
The dippers are scum and surely he’s too smart to join them.

It would be like the ex you still have feelings for fucking someone you can’t stand.
No. Never boo KDB, he's done too many good things for City. Would be horrible seeing him in red but the move just 30 miles away would make sense for him and his family. Professional footballers on opposing teams mostly respect each other regardless of rivalries and few would use words like "scum" for another club the way fans do.

Many athletes don't think like fans

Their mentality that got them to the top of the game is the same mentality that doesn't want them to drop down levels if they think they have something to offer at the top, no matter what.

We didn't offer him a contract. If he still wants to play for a premier league team that's competing for titles then he'll think he can do a job for a club like the dippers.

Loyalty to club who doesn't want you anymore isn't that high up on the list of priorities for most players

Christ there are some gullible people on here.

There’s more chance of me banging my new wife Beyoncé on the night I’m inaugurated as the 48th President of the USA than of Kev joining those scumbags

Not surprised the dippers want him.

Wouldn’t surprise me if KDB goes there either. He gets grumpy and has the hump when does. He feels scorned by City and might just think fuck it, my family are settled here, I’ll go and play 35 games and challenge for titles.

I think family is the clincher. He has made it clear it would be a huge upheaval for the children to move. I get the impression family comes first for him.

I say good luck to him. Bye-bye statue if it happens, though. And some serious inquest inside City, I would imagine. It would be another error of judgement at the executive level if that happens.

Bitter pill to swallow if he ends up at this shit hole.

Footballer’s genuinely have no loyalty. City have made clear their position. So it’s us fans taking it up the …again.

Lovely way to finish a crap season, if true.

Most footballers would say that about clubs and even fans! Remember, HE wants to stay!

Grealish helped rebuild Villa and yet they boo him every chance they get…because he did what KDB is being asked to do…go play for the Champions!

Seems everyone is missing the point here. A year older Kev going to Liverpool makes them worse, not better. Much worse. Perhaps this is his final parting gift :)

And I would fully expect even if he comes back to the Etihad and scores a hatrick against us he would still get a standing ovation.

He’s leaving at the bottom not the top.

Maybe they can take Bernie and Gundo whilst they’re at it!

He could still have 2-3 more years at the very top.

He isn't at the very top now, let alone in 2-3 years. He was easily the worst player vs. Real. People struggle to see reality for what it is.

Nobody understands football better than Pep and no club gets big decisions better than ours. That's why we have won so many trophies and broke all time records.

From 20/21 to 23/24 we were in with a chance to win the Treble as late as April, four seasons in a row! I doubt there's another such team in the history of football.

Kun wanted to play another year too. Letting him go was the right decision. Some legends can't accept they are not sufficiently good anymore. We ain't a retirement home.

Why would there be an inquest? The club haven't offered him a contract and he's free to go where he wants.

If the club care that much about him going to another club, no matter who, then they should offer him another contract.

But we haven't and there can be no complaints when he is setting up goals for Mo Salah next season.

I wouldn't rule out him going there. His family can stay put and family comes first.

Anyway football is about entertainment and storylines, it's not life and death. It would be quite interesting to see him playing in the red shirt of Liverpool. Hope he does.

Pep, the club have effectively binned him with ltd consultation and Pep clearly favours his neighbour Gundo and Bernardo.

Kev can be arsey ( almost manc like!) and this drives him on as per his performances of late particularly v Palace where at one stage we were a total shambles before his input

Early in life he was rejected by people around him when forging his career. If he wants to stay local for his kids wellbeing while Pep commutes to and from Barca to save his marriage so be it.

I dont think the club have handled this well in that Kev has not been afforded the same respect as Gundo.

Post = on point.

I wouldn't blame Kev at all if he took up their offer. I would hate it though, but from the fan perspective seems to me he has been given no respect at all by the club in this decision to release him.

He is not the Kev he was playing wise, but he would be great as an impact sub.
