The kind of ice cold guy he comes across is, footballing wise as I mean, I don’t think he would give a shiny fuck about our feelings, should the Liverpool rumour be true.

Wherever he goes, nothing takes away from what he’s given us. It’s his life and his choice.

He could play the best 4 games of his career and it won't make a blind bit of difference. He's gone, get used to it.
“Get used to it”???
I’m really not bothered mate. Just putting my thoughts down in response to those who are pining for us to keep him. I actually think he might have 4 great games but wouldn’t be able to maintain it for a City season which requires a game every 3 days

He owes us fuck all?!

Absolutely mental when our own fans think this. There wasn't a queue of teams when he was at Wolfsburg and we actually got the piss taken out of us for spending "so much" on him. We took that risk.
We've given him the opportunity to come and work for the best club the in world over the last 8 years or so. He's been treated well and looked after by the club (look at Gundo's experience in Barca and the way they treated him). He's come here and won everything there is to win. There's not many other teams he could have gone to and had the same experience as with City. When you hear former players talk about the club and how well they're looked after, and you see it on the behind the scenes videos - to say "he owes us fuck all" is stupid.

This isnt anything new. Sergio was treated in the exact same way - he wanted to stay but we knew the time was right for him to leave. He didn't consider even moving to another Premier League club - imagine if he'd ended up going to United. He went abroad and he got a statue built.
It’s really not. So you don’t think a top team like Bayern or somebody would have ended up signing him when he was the hottest player in Germany at the time? We stopped him being stranded at Wolfsburg did we?Of course he’s been treated well and payed well, due to being one of the best players we’ve ever had. He could have pushed for a move to Real or Barca in his prime but never did.

Aguero got a dream move back to Spain to one of the biggest clubs in the world. KDB owes us nothing and we don’t owe him much. I think it’s the right time for him to go but as soon as he’s on the decline (rightly so) we’ve got rid. So we’ve not shown him loyalty either.

If he gets the chance to go to one of the best clubs in England not uproot his family and thinks he can still play in the Premier League why shouldn’t he? There’s no loyalty in football and it works both ways.

The guy i know who used to work closely with the players says socially, hes extremely cold. Not that hes not a nice enough bloke, but very cold and distant and a little spikey

In my opinion, it would be a huge blow to the club and a real slap in the face to everyone, fans included.

He’s undoubtedly aware of the intense rivalry between us and Liverpool, and I’m sure he has plenty of tempting offers on the table. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but for me, it'd be really hard to swallow, and my view of him would be tainted, regardless of whether he’s a Liverpool fan or not.

He’s been an integral part of our success over an extended period—our talisman and our captain. He’s an intelligent guy, and fingers crossed, he’ll realise that while some may wish him well, making that move would alienate a lot of City fans.

Put the shoe on the other foot—when Gerrard left, if he’d turned down LA Galaxy and joined City, their fans would have been up in arms.

That said, I can’t say it would surprise me. He seems pretty cutthroat and clearly isn’t happy about not getting a new deal. From his perspective, what better way to prove the club wrong than showing up at Anfield and proving he’s still got something to offer?

I guess if he’s out with the lads and sees the likes of (for example) Grealish getting hammered, well that’s just not his scene so he may come across as being “cold” where as I see him as just feeling awkward in that kind of setting where he’d just rather not be.
As the song goes
“It’s happy hour again,
I think I would be happy
If I wasn’t out with them….”

I have. You don't usually answer a rhetorical question yourself, hence it being rhetorical.

Have you heard of passive aggression before?
You don’t usually. But sometimes for the hard of thinking it’s best to not to leave it to chance.

Post = on point.

I wouldn't blame Kev at all if he took up their offer. I would hate it though, but from the fan perspective seems to me he has been given no respect at all by the club in this decision to release him.

He is not the Kev he was playing wise, but he would be great as an impact sub.

Would you pay the kind of money he wants just for an impact sub that may or may not deliver? It's just not smart business

Absolutely spot on

You’re absolutely right. Just look at how Liverpool fans, including Carragher, have reacted to Alexander-Arnold going to Real Madrid. It would be the same level of headloss from me.

Why didn't Bayern try to sign him when he was with Wolfsburg? Just making up that he could have gone there doesn't help your argument.

We took that risk on him, paid a good amount of money for him at the time, and put him on the biggest stage. No other club did that, City did.

Bayern wanted him, I remember the melt downs on here a few times during the protracted transfer saga back in Summer 2015 when we all thought they’d finally got his signature. He was destroying it in the Bundesliga at the time, it’s very similar to the Wirtz situation that’s happening now. The fee went that high to make sure Bayern blinked first.

If no one else wanted him he would have landed at City in June for pre season, instead it happened right at the end of window. He then came off the bench on his debut at Palace and provided an assist and the rest is history.
