Agree with every word of this tbh. The fact that he's not being linked to anyone in Europe despite apparently waiting for offers paints the picture. I love Kev more than any other City player we've ever had but we can't expect to keep a player on more than £200k when his best suitors so far are Inter Miami and Chicago Fire.
He can't do it anymore. Yes he can still produce those big moments every now and then, but they're fewer and farther between - and what happens in between them is detrimental to the team. The plain facts of it are that he can't press from the front anymore which means the team has to reshape itself around him - we can't afford that.
I've already said it in another thread, but us fans wanted to offer Kompany and Gundogan new deals when they left in 2019 and 2023 respectively. Kompany was basically retired six months after he left us and it's become obvious now that we were ultimately correct to let Gundogan leave. I don't see how keeping Kevin benefits us.
