Khaldoon's End of Season Review 2025

Khaldoon briefly touched on it during last seasons interview. He tried to justify the season ticket and match day ticket price increases.

Reported in the MUEN.

Al Mubarak addressed criticism from supporters at a rise of five per cent in season ticket prices for next season and explained why the decision had been made in his end-of-season interview with club media.

But Al Mubarak also stressed the need to raise prices to continue boosting revenues that can be reinvested into the team, which continues to achieve unprecedented on-field success.

"This is a very delicate issue for sure. I appreciate the feelings of our fans when it comes to a very important aspect, which is the price of a ticket," said Al Mubarak.

"I want to try to explain this very difficult balance that there is always tension between investing, growing, meeting more demand, being sustainable and financially viable, and at the same time, taking care of our core fan base and making sure they have affordable tickets and they continue to enjoy their football in the way they always have.
I’m sure he’ll give it another 20 second brush under the carpet again, but anything more tangible than that is unlikely in my opinion.

Tell that to the elite clubs we want to emulate and be alongside. The thing is, we were briefly. Or was the project mission statement, get really good, get to the pinnacle, then take your eye off the ball?

Like the poster you responded to, been watching us for decades and can put a context on differing situations and times.

The tedious "spoilt" innuendos are wearing thin and are unanalytical. Also, invariably, aimed at the wrong people
We've been an elite club for years now, the best in the world in 2023, won a record 4 titles in a row, with domestic and European trebles to boot.

We are the club the rest of the world wants to emulate, not the other way round.

Teams in Europe dread being drawn against us, and that includes the grandees of old.

So we have one off season after years of magnificance beyond our wildest dreams, and you think finishing 3rd is the end of the world?

Interesting comments on here but I think we’re all looking too deeply into what he says in the interview.

If he’s half the man he’s been for the last decade and a half he’ll know exactly where it’s gone wrong and he’ll have a multitude of incredibly well thought out strategies to put things right, and what he says in some poxy end of season interview will have no bearing on that.

Unless, like our squad, he’s gotten old and tired and stale

Of course. It's his job to tell Soriano to sort it out, not to inform the fanbase on the minutiae of season ticket pricing.

I would quite like him to say he recognises the problems with fans and say he has told Soriano to sort it. But I doubt he will. He would if I was writing the questions and answers.

Shame you left "end of the World," until the very end.

Oh OK then. Everything is fine. Just a lickle blip.

That's a key issue for me with the CFG.

When they removed 'FC' from our name, they turned our club into just another asset owned and run by non-football, land grabbing businessmen.
Without those non football, land grabbing businessmen, we would not have had the last decade of success.
Peter Swales was a city fan, yet he screwed us over far more than the land grabbing businessmen.

Would be nice if he acknowledged how disappointing this season was and said don’t worry, we’ll spend enough to make sure that doesn’t happen again,
