They failed in Iraq massively,the losses for Iraqis were immense and based on a bullshit idea of WMD.They failed in Afghanistan,and other countries etc. You have to understand the history of a people. USA are not bothered now about the middle east as they have so much shale oil and gas it does not bother them.In fact the oil and gas prices dropped so low in the USA that many companies had to stop production as it was not worth their while. It is complex for sure, but the Russians are the enemy is a naive perspective.To a certain extent, I do agree. But Russia and Putin are only less of a worry because they’re actually a small nation in many ways. They have as small an economy as Spain or Italy and far less military might than they portray. But their aims are still a worry. They are at the root cause of all our social media extremes in the West, which you might think is a joke compared to bombing a country, but long term it actually causes more unrest among society than a bomb does.

Germany wanted Russia out of the war so that they could focus all their troops on the Western Front. They needed to defeat Britain and France before the inevitable entry of the USA into the war. The plan almost succeeded but the the French front line resisted. Then the USA came into the war and Germany were always going to lose as soon as they could build up sufficient forces in Europe.
