What’s the animus with Napoli?

The problem with grealish isn't his playstyle. It's that he's absolutely shit at beating his man, delivering a cross or shooting. I'd absolutely love a grealish that can do those things!

It goes back to Jorginho signing for Chelsea. We believed we had a deal with Napoli only for them to negotiate a higher price with Chelsea behind our backs, when they were trying to take Sarri as manager.

The owner seems to be a knob as well and think we were also priced out of kouilably a couple of times, shame we only got Dias instead!

Fences can be mended in football.
A few years ago the perceived wisdom was the near impossibility of signing anyone in Raiola's stable plus the Sporting Director of BVB hating us and everything we stand for.
Not saying anything will come of this but nothing is forever in this business.

This is step 1 in the process.

I expect step 2 of bidding well below the asking price and waiting for something to happen between July and mid to late August.

Then it's on to settling for a player doing well at a mid table team and pretending there's some sort of master plan instead of it just being a mediocre signing.
Haha. Also, "Ouch" and, "Touché". Still. Sometimes it works, Haaland and so on. And we're good on FFP compared to many, which will be an organisation level target - remove us from the line of fire.

I get the impression he really has lived up to the hype so far this season. At 21 - that's scary.

Even further than that mate - they pissed us around a whole summer a while back over Cavani, eventually calling a press conference at the end of it all to announce he was staying - but mostly to take the piss out of City.

Then there was Jorginho. And then Koulibaly.

Their owner seems to delight in building his personal brand off making a big song and dance of standing up to big bad City - in a way he never bothers to with other clubs.

I’d be very surprised if we went back for more.
