Our transfer budget must be huge after years of balancing it out. We’ve only spent a net spend of £138m over the last 5 years, amortise those contracts over their duration, add in record revenues and we’re laughing.
We could probably afford Wirrz and Musiala.
I’d love to know if anyone has kept track of the finances over that period of time and see how much we actually could spend.
It's hard to say exactly, but we generate about £100m cash profit per season and made net transfer sales of £90m last summer, so, over this window and summer 2025 (spending next season's £100m too) could give us a budget of c£290m.
But, I think we have FFP flexibility for >£400m, so we could easily spend an extra £100m next summer and basically zero in 2026, instead.
100 percent agree mate . These players don’t come along often and I reckon £80 mill gets it done .If this guy really is available we should be all over this. Elite player that could become a world star here.

According to twitter (yeah I know) Napolis asking price is said to be £67m or €80m. If true thats a bargain for a young offensive player who was player of the year in the Serie A champions just 18 months ago.100 percent agree mate . These players don’t come along often and I reckon £80 mill gets it done .
Kvara, Marmoush, The Viking, Savio, BobbId yard Jack and Doku to get this lad on LW (assuming Marmoush is done)
Foden and Musiala/Wirtz if we can get one of them as Kdb replacement from the 2025 season and beyond, it would be mental. We would clear 200+goals in all comps, every season!

kvara is a monster player but it’s either him or Marmoush I guess. They occupy the same positions. Buying 2 players for 80M each with someone like KDB still there or even next season IF someone like Baena or Musiala gets would mean that one of the former two would move to the right where they are ineffective. Rather wait for summer and look at Musiala or Baena.
