for me the best player i have seen from our youth team in recent times. I cant beleive we got rid of him tbh. He wasnt given a fair chance imo

Who would you have had him replace? He moved to Burnley in the season that we had the best two right-backs in the league fighting it out for a spot, and Micah wasn't crocked quite as much as now.

If he was a left-back, there would have been a better chance for him.
Pretty much this, he definitely needed to move and get first team football. I'm just glad he is showing his talents somewhere rather than disappearing like a lot have done. Ben Mee is in that team as well I believe.

Same story as Neil Taylor who is also a good player.

The two of them would certainly be good squad players for left and right back currently. Not top class by any means and i don't think either will end up playing for a top club in their starting line-ups for big games - unlike Micah has in his career (and hopefully does in the future) - but two good players.

puts a better cross in than either Zaba or Micah

Not hard to do - it does my nut in how many times Zaba fails to put a "killer" ball into the box! The only weakness in his game for me.

Taylor was a bit different,he left the club at 15.Trippier was on the verge of the first team and left at 22.

If we hadn't been bought out by Thaksin and later the Sheikh I think he'd be playing for us now, either rotating with Micah at RB or Micah would have been pushed into a CB role with Trippier as RB.

We'd probably still have a couple of the other youngsters also including Sturridge, unless we'd been forced to sell them.

To be fair this is something that Zabba has worked on and you can see how much his crossing/ decision making has improved. There have been quite a few times this season where he has got into a good position and made some quality assists by getting his head up and picking a pass rather than hit and hope.

Zaba has the most assists by a full back in the premiership.
Imagine how is stats would look if he were any good at it!

Depends on your definition of a good cross, I like the ones that end in tap ins on the 6 yard line, maybe some people don't....

Got himself into the Prem and has signed a 3 yr contract, cracking little player,i honestly think he would have made a fine understudy for Zab,his offensive play is superb and well suited to our game.
Anyway, well done Kieran for never giving up on the dream.

The former Manchester City right-back, a key part of the team who secured automatic promotion to the Premier League in 2013-14, commits to a contract lasting until 2017
Kieran Trippier has penned a fresh three-year contract with Premier League newcomers Burnley, the club have announced.

The full-back was one of the standout performers for Sean Dyche's men in 2013-14 as they ended a four-year absence from the top flight by clinching second place in the Championship.

Trippier made 41 league appearances during that successful promotion campaign and is now committed to the Lancashire club until at least 2017.

His consistent performances reportedly alerted the attention of several top-flight sides, including FA Cup winners Arsenal, Newcastle and Southampton.

The 23-year-old came through the youth ranks at Premier League champions Manchester City before enjoying two loan spells at Barnsley.

Burnley originally signed the former England Under-21s international on a temporary basis in July 2011 before making the move permanent in January 2012.

It marks further good news for the Lancashire club after fellow defender Daniel Lafferty also extended his stay by three years on Wednesday.
