Simple answer Mrs B is not everyones work situation is flexible in my case for example even though im not in Manchester I don't finish work until 6pm and my employers are not flexible on stuff like this guessing its the same for loads of others.

The answer is easy - day trippers - they have probably 500,000 of these to pick from, we probably have about 15,000, the impact (like united) is huge on attendances. They also have a smaller capacity, meaning its much more difficult to get tickets for league games, so many more will try and get tickets for the lesser games.

I don't think ours will be as bad as some are making out, but will depend very much on tonights result at the price City are asking. For me they've priced this one too high, considering 2 rounds further against Hamburg they charged £5.

I reckon about 34,000, but its coming at the end of a long run of extra games, and no matter what people say, many just don't have the money, so I'm not going to worry about it.

I've sacrificed Sunday for next Thursday, partly because it suits my work better, as I don't have to get up next Friday, and Sunday evenings are the worst day for travel, and can take 4 hours + to get home, meaning I wouldn't be home till 11pm or later, whereas easier travel back on Thursday evening will get me home about an hour later.

so what you are saying we haven't got enough fans in the north west(not going to expand it any further than that for obvious reasons) to make 46,000 crowd for a 6pm kick off.
says a lot for our imagined fan base.
the day tripper argument falls flat slighty as they don't sell out in the main for their league games which are played at more reasonable times and at weekends.
they also have had poor attendances in europe up to now mid 20,000's.
ultimately we get what we deserve.

Why does everyone keep goin on like £22.50 is dear and were gettin ripped off because I guarantee none if the other top 10 teams in our league maybe all the league would be this cheap for a last 16 game in the Europa league or £17.50 for a last 16 game against villa in the fa cup, my mate who is a united fan couldn't believe it when I told him my ticket was £15 on Sunday yet were the ones who still can't sell out, it's pretty embarrassing when everyone can remember the only 2 cup games we have ever sold out at eastlands 1 when it was £5 a ticket and 1 in semi final avaunt them scum bags

I'm really surprised that prices haven't been dropped for this game... The early KO means that more kids could attend but there seems no incentives, other than loyalty points, are on offer.

We've had loads of Home games recently and the fact is, times are hard.

I'm guessing a lot of people are waiting on the result tonight too.

How come it kicks off 10pm local time in Kyev and 6pm in Manchester? Why not 8pm there and 8pm here?

Didn't they teach you anything at school? If there is a 4 hour time difference, how can they kick-off at the same time? Doh.

they obviously didn't teach you in school that there's a 2 hour time difference between the uk & ukraine, not 4. in any case the op has asked a legitimate question with the 1st leg kicking off in kiev at 10.05 pm local time (8.05 pm in the uk) while the home leg kicks off at 6 pm. the reason appears to be down to tv schedules.
