Kindle Fire HD

My previous kindle went to the great land fill site in the sky a few weeks ago. The Fire HD is a nice piece of kit and I definitely would be tempted if I didn't have a first generation iPad already. As I would only use the kindle for reading books I settled for a Paperwhite in the end as it has a build in light (very useful on planes) and the ridicules battery life of my last kindle.

My Paperwhite has just arrived today.....But themissus has swiped it and put it away for Christmas.... :-(

Are you still going to be pleasantly surprised after you unwrap it on Christmas Day?

Can you get sky go installed on your kindle fire, the mrs has bought me one for xmas.

I've got a laptop for home and a smart phone for when I'm out and now want a normal £69 Kindle for reading - but does anything think I'm missing a trick by just getting a Kindle instead of a proper tablet? Are they genuinely worth the extra money when I don't feel I'm missing out as it is?

I think its shit hot.

Books/ internet/ music/ films/ games (I have added emulators for PS1, Mega drive and Snes, so I can play Crash Bandicoot, Sonic and Mario when bored at work).

Groovy baby!

Cheers. I looked all that up and I did that the other day.

I have a version of adobe flash player on there/google chrome/dolphin/sopcast/ustream.

Cant watch streaming sites like firstrowsports for example as it says that i need to update flashplayer/java script is not enabled when it is.

Would rooting alone resolve this issue or is there another way?

I have streaming working!

For those interested install Dolphin hd and Adobe flash player 11.1.apk.

Only seems to work on dolphin tho.

Not sure about Kindle, but Android has a Sopcast app so you can stream straight to tablet or phone. I have it on my s2 and plan on downloading it for my shiny new Asus Transformer Infinity.

How did you install Dolphin? I've been struggling to do that on mine.
