Kinkladze - just how good was he?

Won player of the year 2 years on trot whilst with us.......yea not that good

Think I was 2nd in one of those years after I headed the ball back over the fence when it came in the crowd one time.

Ah well the general feeling is simple I see,not good enough, however I am too young to have witnessed the Bell,Lee,Summerbee era,but old enough to remember the early 80's when I started to go to the games

Trouble is these days with City fans,is a spoilt attitude, after what we have signed over the last few years, but as this is about Kinkladze,I shall remain on topic, and bring it right up to the modern day squad we have now,and list who he would play instead of from our current set up midfielders:

In no particular order

BARRY
NASRI
RODWELL
GARCIA
MILNER

I'm with you on that one meesh. Kinkladze would be ideal in our midfield today. You would never see Nasri being able to take two or three players out of a game like he could. He would turn a game on his own and very often had to. Super talent, super player and super entertainment !.

Most over rated player to pull a city shirt on my arse.

ahh the little genius. Drove a great open top Jag XK8.

From what I remember of him he had moments of pure genius and then crap times too. Could be selfish at times.

just what we need now someone who can run wiv the ball at pace and beat a man, would fit perfect in the team now.

We would be such a different proposition for other teams with Silva and Kinkladze in the same team. Imagine Silva with his through balls and link up play, then Kinkladze with his ability to beat 3 or 4 men at pace !. Then throw in Aguero, Tevez and Yaya !, what a joy to watch those 5. There have been games this season, that Kinkladze would've won us on his own.

Was a great player that played in a series of rubbish teams with a selection of truly awful managers...

I remember him scored one of the best goals I've ever seen up at middlesboro' but then we ended up losing 4-1!

He had the ability to light up games but also go missing in too but a lot of players of his ilk generally are the same.

And as I recall didn't we sell him for £5m which was a decent profit too.
