Kinkladze

you cant compare - that was then and this is now

Gio was definately one of the most skillful players ever to don the sky blue though - imagine if he had been surrounded by real talent rather than the dross he found himself with

GIO GIO GIO GIO GIO GIO

Anyone who slags or didn't rate Kinkladze knows fuck all about football and isn't a City fan.

GIO GIO GIO GIO GIO GIO

I have watched city since 1989 and I must say that there has never EVER been a player who has excited the stadium like he did when he got the ball. Robinho is a great player but does not have the balance, pace (when he first came) and brilliance that Gio did. Special, special player who would WALK into this team.

Thats untrue. He was played on the left at Ajax and his career went astray. Lets not forget that Ajax back then were a big club who were regulars in the knock outs of the champions league. Some clubs suit certain players-look at Forlan and Kanoute when they went Spain, when they were average at best in the prem. He had frightening ability and came to the right club (MCFC) at the wrong time. He'd be a star now if he arrived as the 22 year old fresh faced kid we got in 1995.

good, I don't care what anyone says that guy was my hero during my teenage years and made so many bad games/teams bearable!

and mine too, he was the reason many fans still went to Maine Road in the horrid years.

Got a cat named after him.Loved the little bloke.

To be fair to Ajax he had put a wee bit of weight on and was carrying a few knocks when they bought him.

Grew up watching this guy, fantastic player, met him once to.

I used to love the way he would sprint 50 yards across the pitch just to take the ball off his own player and then start to run at the defence and they would shit themselves and be scared of going near him! lol
