Kloppy

The one thing I like about Klopp is is apparent passion on the sidelines and the way with which he interacts with his players. You can really see the bond between them and its clear that they want to play for him and the club. To be fair to Bob though, he has more egos to content with.

That's just it. That Dortmund TEAM is full of young lads that play with passion. They're about to become super stars therefore, easier to manage. However, Mancini still not right for us IMO.

Out of interest, sarcasm aside, who do you think is the better manager - Bob or Klopp?

Forget who they manage, and incumbent etc. If neither were currently our manager and we had to choose one to take over at the helm.
Good thought experiment is this one. It really is hard to say when a manager has only been successful at one club in one country. You don't get the full measure of comparison you do from seeing a successful manager at many clubs in more than one country. Mancini's record doesn't get enough credit on Bluemoon and too many people succumb to grass is greener syndrome and see only other managers' pluses and only Mancini's negatives. Tough experiment but I decided Klopp would be worth a punt.

Aye, I'd agree with you. It is tough although I suppose Bob hadn't managed outside of Italy before he came to us. I think German football is a good template for doing well in the Prem.

One thing for me, I really enjoy listening to Klopp. He's a very funny man and I think the media would love him over here.

A bizarre thread this one in my opinion. If Mancini was at another club, here or abroad, with a track record like he has, people on here would be shouting to get Mancini in.

Why do we want more than we have now? We stand on the cusp of the greatest period in City's history.

I think we have young talent but Mancini chooses not to play them.

For the purpose of the thought experiment I presumed Mancini had won a title in another major league so he had the same record as he has now, just not with City.

Both Mancini and Klopp are very likeable guys. Makes no difference to me on that front.

Expand on which young talent you think is ready but never play....

-- Thu Apr 25, 2013 6:39 am --

who?

My question as well mate. He's thrown Nastasic in at the deep end, Rodwell has played when fit and Guidetti has been injured. He will most likely think Suarez, and other EDS players are ready when they are a million miles away from first team level.

I'm currently in Germany on business and watched the post match interview with him on German TV. He seems like a generally nice bloke who has nothing but praise for his players and actually talks sense in his interviews. None of this 'this Issa football' excuse of an interview. He must have been in the studio for 10 minutes talking about the game.
Presumably the interview was conducted in German. I suspect that Mancini would also talk more sensibly if he was also using his mother tongue. So how is Kloppy's English?

I'm not saying the likes of Suarez are ready to play week in week out but they are not even given a chance to come on when we are two or three nil up against lower opposition. How exactly are they supposed to build up confidence at the highest level?

His English is near on perfect and he did a good part of the interview in English.
