Partial is plannedFull or partial replacement?
My dad's had both his done. You need to work it once it's done and it's painful. Get the ice packs ready, they might even give you a special ice bandage thing. Loads of ice and get it working.Partial is planned

Defo push the exercises to every schedule you’re given. Both mine changed 10 weeks apart few years ago. Changed my life and able to do everything I want to do. Only firm advice- don’t watch the internet operation vids until after the procedure.Had both my knees done in the last 10 months. Best thing ever! As previous comments, use the ice packs and push yourself with the exercises. Be careful on the meds, the main painkiller stopped me pissing and I had to change it to something else.
I've had partial on both knees. Best thing I ever did. Fucking agony for the first week or so but do the physio - even though it feel pointless, it isn't. Supposedly a 10 year life span, but I was relatively young at the time for such an opp - 43 when I had my first one done. I'm 53 now and the consultant said they were as good as new in my last check up a few months ago. I got to the stage I couldn't walk without crutches for about a year so they agreed to do them for me. I'm an ex semi pro football and cricketer so they took a pounding in my youthful days. Proper bandy legged now so the cartilage just wore away on the inside of the knees. I can still play astro turf football on them and they hold up really well. It's just the rest of my body which hurts like hell now after a game haha. Good luck mate. You'll be good. Just remember the pain passes - even though after the drugs wear off on about day 2 post opp you wont think so. An do the physio - most importantPartial is planned

My dad has had both his done in the last 3 years. Painful at first but the recovery is quick, relatively speaking. His second was in march this year and by May he was back walking to dog. Right now he is pain free and full mobility.
What the flook! ?
I had mine done 9 years ago. As you said I did the exercises religiously. After about 3 weeks, no pain. Not me but my mum and her neighbour both got them done within weeks of each other, my mum 80 did the post op exercises from day one religiously through the pains and now gets about pain free great. Her neighbour 72 didn’t and now nearly a year later walks with crutches. The choice is yours.

How long before your swelling totally disappeared?I had mine done 9 years ago. As you said I did the exercises religiously. After about 3 weeks, no pain.
Then met a woman who spotted my scar. She was still on crutches 2 years later. When I asked her if she had done the exercises her reply was "I couldn't be bothered with that rubbish "
