Took ages to find a decent working link for the Wednesday game tonight, half the stuff was dead, poor quality or froze the screen.

I have used it before and it's never done anything detrimental; don't actually know what it does if I'm honest!

Just looked and I think it means deleting cache of old packages; in other words you won't be able to go back to older versions of add-ons but it can free up some space basically :)
