Not if you have the right plugins and set up right, its what I used for 6 months till I upgraded but once you upgrade you dont go back.

Been using firestick for last couple of years and watched free films, footy, filth and fights in fairly decent quality with minimal buffering issues.
Took the plunge and ordered a nvidia shield.

@aguerooooo just wanted to say a big thanks for your bluemoon build, have been running kodi on a laptop for a good while and decide to go with Amazon Fire tv box and add your build, wow what a difference. I can only imagine the work that's gone into it, keep up the good work.
