This is always a worry with a public stream, you have 0 control over it. Did you find another stream bud or?

I've used this to change my fonts and style in the past https://seo-michael.co.uk/tutorial-how-to-change-fonts-in-kodi-xbmc/ and this skin is more moddable but very similar to Nox https://seo-michael.co.uk/aeon-nox-5-silvo-mod-for-helix-kodi/

Personally the best skin for me is titan in vertical mode the amount you can mod in it is limitless.

You could always pause it when you want to catch up mate, or if you copy and paste the YouTube link into vlc then you can play it in slow mo :)
