Strange thread. He was absolutely superb yesterday, watch the match properly in future. He dominated the left side by himself had no help but was up and down doing his thang. Got abit tired towards end which is to be expected with the amount of ground he covers. He was our best player yday and will go on to be a legend here.

So that's 2 people that share the OP's sentiment so I wonder who's right. I went yesterday and he covered a lot of ground. I've actually been pretty critical of him, I think potentially the lad is a superstar. He's gradually looking like he's getting the treacle off his boots and you gotta remember he's used to Italian football. His job is to attack and defend, he'll still be getting used to the speed of the game over here. As I said originally, give the bloke a chance.

The OP is a poor judge of football and a footballer. He derided my assertion the other day that De Jong was a great footballer.

He thinks a great footballer is someone who is good at keepy-up.

If you want to produce some cheap jab based on poor judgement yourself of my posts, then feel free. Im big enough to take that. I never said De Jong wasn't a great footballer. I was referring to the point about being determined 'great' by the game itself, as he hasn't achieved anything to be considered that. Of course he is great in terms of ability in his position.

He's getting better each game. He's played a handful of games in the Premier League. An experienced Premier League Striker got in behind him and scored. Not the 1st time it's happened to a Player (of any team), won't be the last.

Kolarov has been poor all season. He was injured granted. But one of the key ingrediants to succeed at the top end of the PL as a full back is pace. He lacks it. Thus will always get the run around. Even Routledge in the newcastle away game took the piss.

My main concern here, is ok, take his lack of pace a-side. What else does he do? Gets forward when he can yes, but he has this mandate to shoot on site whenever he wants, and whilst he scored against leicester, he had about 40 attempts previous to that this season all of which were wasted. We do need to have more penetration and tempo in the final 3rd with more clear cut chances on goal, but kolarov twatting it from 30-40 yards every game is pathetic to be honest

He has pace. As we've seen from YaYa, getting games increases fitness. I think he'll prove you wrong.
I'll try dig out the stats, but I doubt it's 40. Unless you have the stats to hand?
