So that's 2 people that share the OP's sentiment so I wonder who's right. I went yesterday and he covered a lot of ground. I've actually been pretty critical of him, I think potentially the lad is a superstar. He's gradually looking like he's getting the treacle off his boots and you gotta remember he's used to Italian football. His job is to attack and defend, he'll still be getting used to the speed of the game over here. As I said originally, give the bloke a chance.

Did he piss on your chips or something? you seriously dont like him. Im unsure as to wether he is the answer, il give him time before i judge but i do think yesterday was prob his best game for us attacking wise. His pace is slightly worrying. overall i say give the guy time.

Heard the same response about Samaras

It's not knee jerk. He is not a top left back. He lacks critical ingredients in his game to be considered. The truth is people are concerned about Kolarov. And his performances this season. They just wont engage in the debate because Mancini paid 16 million for him, and because some on here would defend a city player on a rape charge merely because he plays for city

I don't dislike him. I am making the point, that we (a) havent had a top left back for a LONG time, and based on Kolarov to date, we are going to continue to wait.

(B) He lacks pace defensively

(C) wastes possession by shooting from 40 yards on several ocassions during a match

But holy shit. He can take corners, and getting forward against a poor Villa side who we battered 4 weeks ago, makes him MOTM

that he is easy to go past defensively by any player with an ounce of pace

and that he is wasteful in possession in the final 3rd by having a license to shoot when he wants, which is detrimental to the team when building up attacks. Id rather us look for more tempo and penetration, without giving Kolarov a mandate to shoot whenever he wants to
