I like Garrido a lot. He's by no means a top class player, but he is most certainly a top class professional. Seems like a top guy. Never complained when he was out of the team for months on end under Hughes. Mancini gave him a chance due to Bridge's injury problems an he responded with another great free kick and some solid performances. There's no fuss with Garrido. He just does his best and gets on with things. And his English is now very, very good, which shows he is committed to the club. He can help Silva settle in too. Buy Kolarov, keep Garrido, sell Bridge.

apparently friends with silva , so could help him settle also .

We should just pay his actual best friend (outside of football) to hang around Carrington. Probably be loads cheaper, and may well be more positionally sound.
But what if they fell out? If Kolarov leaves we'd be stuck with a Serbian plumber in a football kit. We'd have to pretend he's a left back and stick him on late in the last game of the season 'cause we're sentimental.

IMO Javi Garrido would make a superb winger. He'll never be an amazing player but he's the type of player that every squad needs. Superb attitude, good squad player, reliable and enjoys being at the club. Would rather him be at the club than Bridge.

Would rather him be at the club than Bridge.

?????

Any specific reason?

has Bridge been a problem to the club in any way?
exactly
bridge has been a model pro since joining the club
through all the shit that's been thrown at him he just gets on with the job
there's been many a time he's played when injured to help out
and last season he was doing well until that tackle from balletti

This is getting confusing! I think its Garrido thats friends with Silva not Kolarov!

Quite like Bridge too, but as back-up i think i'd rather keep Garrido, he's probably not quite as good, but then again he's younger, probably on fairly low wages, probably worth less than Bridge (for re-sale value). We also have Zab, Boateng, Lescott, Barry and soon even Milner who can play there, don't think Bridge is required any more. If we can get a decent fee for him i'd let him go.

i'm not arguing the merits of keeping him or letting him go, and you make some valid points
i'm just getting a little exasperated with some of our 'fans' who seem to think everyone's shit if it's not their personal favourite or if they are not a top draw star
a little humility from some wouldn't go amiss

Breaking news - transfer holdup. Kolarov jealous of Garrido - Silva friendship. Wants extra 10k 'feeling left out' payment.

Do you think Spanish Gaz could fix my taps then?

In that case i totally agree...

People make snap judgments, have an argument with other posters about it, and from then on have to use every possible chance when that players does something wrong to justify their position, whilst ignoring any positives.

For some reason Garrido is one of my favourite players in the squad, never moans and just gets on with it.

I think he is better further up field, he's quite creative and has good delivery.

My personnal choice for back up at left back...i would be quite pleased with Bridge moving on (injuries and excessive wages)

Bridge is a very good player, and a good athlete which is important in an ever more competitive League. I'd be disappointed if we sold him.

He's the 2nd best England left back, and perhaps he has struggled a little bit at times for City, but form is temporary and class is permanent as the saying goes. If we sell him to Liverpool we will regret it, and Liverpool will benefit. A double whammy

We should aim to have 2 players for every position so if we sign Kolarov, that doesn't mean Bridge can go, or I hope it does not
